If you don’t already have an “OSHA Job Safety and Health: It’s the Law” poster, it’s time to get one. All covered employers are required to display this free poster in their workplace, as it informs workers of their rights under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. If you’re concerned that you don’t have the most recent poster, there’s no need to worry as previous versions don’t need to be replaced. Just be sure the poster is displaced in area that’s easy for workers to see it.
Does your state have an OSHA-approved state plan? If so, there may be a state-specific version of the poster. It’s also important to note that all federal government agencies are required to use the Federal Agency Poster.
There’s nothing more important than the safety of your workers. It’s important to hang the poster and comply with the occupational safety and health standards issued under the OSH Act of 1970 to put the well-being of your team first.
How to Get Your Free OSHA Workplace Poster
Since hanging the poster in your workplace is a requirement, OSHA makes it easy to get your free copy. There are three ways to do this, including:
- Ordering a Print Copy Online: Visit the OSHA Publications Web page and choose publication number 3165 for the English version or 3167 for the Spanish version. The poster is also available in Korean, Nepali, Spanish, Chinese, Polish and Portuguese. OSHA regulations do not require you to display the poster in a foreign language, but you are encouraged to display the Spanish version if you employ Spanish-speaking workers.
- Ordering a Print Copy by Phone: Call the OSHA toll-free number at 1-800-321-6742 (OSHA) or the OSHA Publications Office at 202-693-1888.
- Downloading a Copy from the OSHA Website: Follow the instructions for downloading a compliant version of the poster. OSHA requires that reproductions or facsimiles of the poster be at least 8.5” x 14 inches with 10 point type.
