SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER – ALLENDALE, NJ

LARGE MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN ALLENDALE, NJ IS HIRING AN EXPERIENCED SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER!

We are looking for a strong Supplier Quality Engineer with experience working directly with vendors and suppliers to improve manufacturing processes, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Candidates must have strong statistical analysis skills, supplier quality experience, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

PAY & SCHEDULE

Salary: $90,000–$115,000 annually
Schedule: Day Shift | Approximately 40–60 hours weekly depending on projects
Location: Allendale, NJ
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Travel: Must be willing to visit supplier/vendor facilities

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – REQUIRED
Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing Quality Engineering experience
Must live within approximately 45 minutes of Allendale, NJ
Strong experience working directly with vendors and suppliers
Proven ability to improve supplier quality and manufacturing processes
Strong statistical analysis and quality data interpretation skills
Experience with supplier audits, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards and processes
Willingness to travel to supplier facilities
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Background: Medical device manufacturing, metals manufacturing, precision machining, or similar technical manufacturing environments.

Food, beverage, and pharmaceutical manufacturing backgrounds are not being targeted.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Evaluate, qualify, audit, and monitor manufacturing suppliers.
Work directly with vendors to improve quality and manufacturing performance.
Conduct onsite and remote supplier audits.
Investigate incoming material defects and supplier nonconformances.
Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
Analyze supplier quality data, trends, and performance metrics.
Develop incoming inspection procedures and sampling plans.
Provide technical guidance to Quality Control Inspectors.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and supplier qualification.
Assist with IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities.
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Strong experience with:

Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Statistical analysis and quality metrics
Supplier audits and supplier development
Root cause analysis / corrective actions
Incoming inspection and sampling plans
Manufacturing process improvement
Microsoft Excel

Preferred: Minitab, ISO 13485, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Management Systems (QMS).

The company currently uses Excel for quality tracking and plans to implement an upgraded QMS.
