Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities of the maintenance team while supporting equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills along with excellent organizational and people-management abilities.
The Supervisor will utilize CMMS, production data, work orders, KPIs, and maintenance metrics to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities focused on equipment uptime, safety, PM compliance, and corrective maintenance.
- Manage, coach, and develop maintenance technicians to improve technical skills and performance.
- Perform and assist with hands-on equipment troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Reduce equipment downtime and improve productivity through preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Plan and support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Manage spare parts inventory and controls.
- Develop and maintain preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
- Support the Maintenance Planner and Reliability Engineer with equipment modifications, plant layouts, and new equipment installations.
- Conduct technician performance evaluations and manage employee performance and disciplinary matters.
- Ensure compliance with the State of Indiana Pressure Vessel Inspection Program.
- Promote and enforce company safety procedures throughout the maintenance department.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical education/experience.
- 15+ years of maintenance and management experience.
- Previous maintenance supervisory experience required.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience troubleshooting robotic packaging equipment, pumps, flow/pressure controls, and automated machinery.
- Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, particularly Allen-Bradley systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial machinery repair, maintenance methods, and tools.
- Experience with CMMS, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively train, motivate, and develop maintenance technicians.
- Must be willing to work occasional extended hours and every other Saturday.
