LARGE COMPANY IN NEW BRAUNFELS TX IS LOOKING FOR A PROCUREMENT MANAGER. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE IDEALLY OUT OF THE CEMENT INDUSTRY OR OTHER BUILDING PRODUCT MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES.
THIS IS 100% ONSITE AND YOU MUST BE OPEN TO BEING ON THE FLOOR AS WELL ROUGHLY AROUND 40% OF THE TIME ON THE FLOOR
IDEALLY IF YOU HAVE A MSHA CERTIFICATE IT IS A PLUS
SALARY: $85K-$115K + 12%-15% TARGET BONUS
Procurement Manager
Position Summary
The Procurement Manager is responsible for purchasing materials, products, and services while identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring continuous supply to support plant operations and maintenance.
This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Category Management, and suppliers to reduce total cost of ownership, improve working capital, and maintain reliable material availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute cost savings and purchasing initiatives.
- Purchase materials, products, equipment, and services required for plant operations and maintenance.
- Develop and monitor the annual purchasing and negotiation plan.
- Ensure materials and services are available on time to support operational requirements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships.
- Partner with Category Managers and Operations on sourcing and category strategies.
- Support annual maintenance forecasting and budgeting.
- Lead supplier negotiations involving pricing, contracts, terms, and service levels.
- Drive inventory reduction and supplier payment-term initiatives to improve working capital.
- Monitor inventory levels and balance material availability with working capital objectives.
- Maintain communication between Procurement, Operations, Maintenance, and suppliers.
- Utilize SAP for purchasing, inventory, maintenance, and procurement activities.
- Support continuous improvement of procurement and supply chain processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Operations.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Knowledge of cement, concrete, and/or aggregate manufacturing operations and materials.
- Strong understanding of Supply Chain Management and procurement principles.
- Experience with supplier negotiations, purchasing, inventory management, and cost reduction.
- Strong knowledge of SAP, particularly purchasing, inventory, and maintenance modules.
- Ability to understand operational requirements and supplier impact on internal and external customers.
- Strong leadership, organization, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, including data analysis, management presentations, and contract documentation.
