LARGE MANUFACTURING PLANT IN CARTERET NJ IS SEEKING A MAINTENANCE MECHANIC ON 3RD SHIFT. 10PM-630AM

This 3^rd shift position is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the plant. It includes preventative maintenance, equipment change-outs, and setups for operation. The position is subject to call-back on weekends and holidays and may require overtime.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
• Install and maintain hydraulic equipment (pumps, motors, cylinders)
• Install and maintain utility equipment, such as boilers, compressors, HVAC systems, and cooling towers
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment
• Change out and set up equipment such as mixers, pumps, and packaging machinery
• Perform minor prefabrication work and operate machine shop equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Must be able to work various shifts, including being on-call

Qualifications: Core Skills and Knowledge

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
• Ability to approach others tactfully, perform well under pressure, and follow through on responsibilities
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Assertive, accountable, and results-driven

Preferred Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree in a related skilled trade preferred
• In lieu of a degree, one year of machine or electrical maintenance experience plus two years of industrial maintenance required
• A combination of technical education and relevant experience will be considered
• Required knowledge of gear drives, conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• General knowledge of electrical controls
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dampness)
• Familiarity with CMMS preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
