Maintenance Lead (Working Lead)

Position Overview
The Maintenance Lead is a hands-on role responsible for performing maintenance work while coordinating the daily activities of the maintenance team. This position ensures equipment reliability, safety, and minimal downtime while supporting efficient plant operations. The role works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and EHS teams and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.

  • Lead response and root-cause analysis for equipment breakdowns and downtime events.

  • Assign daily maintenance tasks and support technicians with troubleshooting and guidance.

  • Ensure completion of preventive and predictive maintenance activities.

  • Enforce safety procedures including PPE and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems.

  • Coordinate maintenance work with production to minimize operational disruptions.

  • Monitor spare parts inventory, tools, and maintenance supplies.

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.

  • Technical training or certifications a plus.

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Work Environment
Manufacturing facility environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. Must be able to perform physical maintenance tasks and lift up to 25–30 lbs.
