NEW OPENING WITH A MANUFACTURING PLANT IN BELLMAWR NJ. THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A STRONG DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING OUT OF A FAST-PACED MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT. IDEALLY FOODS OR BEVERAGE.

PAY IS $100K-$130K SALARY

SHIFT: DAY SHIFT AVERAGE 50 HOUR WORK WEEK

Scope:

The Director of Maintenance and Engineering will oversee all aspects of the maintenance and engineering operations within our facility. This position will be the content expert of our industrial maintenance, including mechanical, controls and electrical systems as well as our engineering process and capital projects. This role is crucial for ensuring the equipment is well maintained while maintaining strong inter-departmental relationships. Through strong and effective leadership of maintenance and engineering activities, this position will ensure the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.

 

Principle Accountabilities:

· Support without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are Priority #1.

· Assure that General Safety and Food Safety is an absolute priority by setting the example as a member of management.

· Provides strategic direction and leadership to the Maintenance team, setting goals and priorities that align with the Company’s mission and values.

· Develops, implements, maintains and updates maintenance project plans. Involves the appropriate team members and coordinates with other departments and/or vendors to ensure project success.

· Oversee the maintenance and asset reliability strategy.

· Ensures the team proactively identifies machinery and/or maintenance needs based upon report data, downtime reports, employee/department input and frequency of repair.

· Develop and implement maintenance management strategies, including but not limited to preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

· Develop, implement, maintain and update long term equipment improvement plans as well as creating and overseeing a standardization plan.

· Responsible for the overall Maintenance data integrity and advancement.

· Manages MRO costs and budgeting and is responsible for all capital and expense engineering.

· Drive the Technical training program for the department and work with the needed partners to develop an appropriate training plan to address the needs of the Bakery.

· Define and ensure ongoing commitment to Maintenance KPIs.

· Oversee the operation of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems.

· Ensure our Maintenance tracking systems, for example EAM are utilized for tracking work orders, inventory, and maintenance schedules.

· Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

· Collaborate with project management teams to plan and execute facility upgrades or improvements.

· Analyze schematics to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions.

· Ensure teams uses and maintains the documentation related to maintenance activities, including reports on equipment performance and repairs.

 

Knowledge/Skills

· 7+ years of proven management experience in food manufacturing, industrial operations, and/or maintenance operations.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent analytical, problem solving, and conflict management skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, as well as Maintenance Operating Systems.

· Proven experience in facilities management with a focus on food industrial maintenance.

· Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical systems, including programing and configuring PLC’s, robotic systems, and industrial control systems.

· Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and programming software as well as CAD software.

· Excellent leadership skills with prior supervising experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Familiarity with project management principles to effectively oversee maintenance projects.

· Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal.

· Knowledge of safety protocols related to maintenance operations is essential.

· A strong understanding of schematics related to mechanical and electrical systems is required.

· Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and workflows

· Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.

· Knowledge of data analytics and its applications in manufacturing preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities Managment Automation Engineering, or related fields.

 

Experience:

· 7+ years previous experience as a Automation Engineer and/or a related position associated with PLC's, robotics and/or industrial controls.

· 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
