FOOD MANUFACTURING PLANT IN SOUTH HOLLAND IL IS LOOKING FOR A SHARP INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE MECHANIC OUT OF A FOOD OR BEVERAGE MANUFACTURING PLANT. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH AT LEAST 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF 480V MOTORS, PLCS, VFDS, HYDRAULICS, PNEUMATICS, ETC.

THIS IS A UNION PLANT SO MUST BE OPEN TO THAT

SHIFT: 2PM-1030PM (MUST BE OPEN TO ALTERNATING WEEKENDS)

PAYS $30.40 HOURLY AND AFTER 30 DAYS YOU GET THE $1.60 SHIFT DIFF

BENEFITS KICK IN AFTER 90 DAYS AS WELL

MUST BE ABLE TO SCORE A 70% OR HIGHER ON A RAMSAY TEST

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures operation of plant machinery utilizing both electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment
  • Completes preventive/predicative maintenance procedures
  • Ensures duties of the position are performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner
  • Controls downtime by completing needed repairs and part replacements in a timely fashion
  • Fabricates repair parts by machining items to specifications as necessary
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by informing production workers of routine techniques, answering questions, and responding to requests
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and updating certified skill levels
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
  • Minimum three to five years related maintenance experience
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, AC drives, VFDs and PLCs
  • Proficient electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
  • Bilingual preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift in excess of 40 pounds daily
  • Able to tolerate extreme temperatures
  • Able to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basis
  • Able to occasionally climb, crouch, kneel and crawl to service variety of equipment
