FOOD MANUFACTURING PLANT NEEDS MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN ON 2ND AND 3RD SHIFT IN ABERDEEN SOUTH DAKOTA
PAY IS $28-$30HR (CAN BE FLEXIBLE)
1pm-11:30pm and 10pm-8am
NEED TO BE STRONG WITH 480V, PLCS, VFDS, ETC.
Position Summary
The Electrician is responsible for independently performing maintenance, repair, and modifications on plant electrical, mechanical, and control systems. This role supports production operations by ensuring safe and efficient electrical systems, including installation of conduit, troubleshooting PLCs, and maintaining documentation on system changes and repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install low- and high-voltage industrial electrical systems for both utility and production operations.
- Size and install electrical conduit and wiring in accordance with NEC codes; form and thread conduit and pull field wires.
- Work independently to diagnose and resolve issues with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated components.
- Maintain, repair, and modify plant control systems, electrical panels, and mechanical equipment.
- Utilize electrical diagnostic tools (multimeters, amp clamps, meggers) to locate shorts, test circuits, and replace faulty components.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to perform repairs.
- Perform system startups and operational checkouts, including calibration and power testing.
- Assist with downloading and reloading PLC programs to restore equipment functionality.
- Support equipment installations and maintain detailed documentation of changes and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations in daily work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Ability to read, interpret, and modify electrical schematics, blueprints, and control diagrams.
- Strong understanding of AC/DC voltage systems, discrete devices, relays, and sensing equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with electrical troubleshooting, system testing, and repairs.
- Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Proficient in using electrical and mechanical diagnostic equipment.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Education and Certification
- Associate degree or equivalent technical training preferred.
- Journeyman Electrician Certification or equivalent experience.
- Background in PLCs, computer-driven control systems, and industrial electronics.
