E&I Tech – We need a senior level tech with a minimum of 5 years of experience who can train other techs and a second tech with at least 3 years of experience.
We need a senior E&I Tech who can troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair, has knowledge in reading and understanding ladder logic in controls (able to use HMI’s – go to a drive and diagnose symptoms – diagnose fail codes, someone who can hit the ground running and plug and play. Prefer Allen Bradley PLC experience as we're trying to go full on with AB PLC's, have some Schneider PLC's, also have a little bit of Mitsubishi and Siemens, will even take guys with Rockwell PLC experience. Willing to pay more than $40/hr for the right experience. Should have at least 5 years experience or close to it. MUST know how to read a multimeter, have computer skills, be able to plug a computer into a drive with the ability to determine what’s preventing a switch from coming on, understand instrumentation, explain PLC troubleshooting and what bit is holding you out, understand fall code, differentiate between a controls problem and a field problem or if it's something else. Need a senior Tech who is sharp at diagnosing and can train people under him, all the equipment is pretty new and state of the art, very easy to access.
Should be okay with doing shift work, be able to respond to calls, be willing to work OT, a minimum of 8 hours OT a week, there's plenty of OT here for someone who wants it – there are 12 hour shifts either 7a – 7p or 7p – 7a (4 on, 4 off, will typically be Mon – Fri, don't work many Saturdays or Sundays unless there's a need for special maintenance) – anything over 40 hours is considered OT – there is $1/hr for shift differential on 3rd shift.

Job Description:
We are seeking a Maintenance E&I Technician who is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical instrumentation systems within our manufacturing environment. This role requires expertise in both electrical and instrumentation work to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of machinery and equipment. The incumbent will be asked to perform routine maintenance on sophisticated equipment. The E&I Technician will work with the Maintenance Manager and Engineering to plan and schedule equipment downtime, along with documenting logs and machine failures. Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience level.
Essential Job Functions:
- Install, test, and calibrate instrumentation and control systems for manufacturing and industrial machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components such as motors, drives, and wiring systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Work with PLCs, HMIs and other control systems to diagnose and resolve system issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Responsible for preventative maintenance and calibrations for all electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment.
- Maintain instrumentation including analytical, flow, pressure, and level transmitters.
- Troubleshoot, test, and calibrate field instruments, including pressure transmitters, flow meters, and control valves.
- Diagnose faults in electrical and instrumentation systems, coordinate with engineers and maintenance team for efficient repairs.
- Support commissioning activities and integrate new systems into existing infrastructure.
- Utilize computerized systems for work orders, inventory tracking and equipment history.
- Follow industry standards, plant safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in the design and implementation of electrical and instrumentation projects.
- Read and understand manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Responsible for installing and maintaining electrical circuits, repairing motors and generators, fixing robotics and programming controllers.
- Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of electrical systems, equipment, and components including but limited to, transformers, switchgear, bus bars, high and low voltage motors and panel wiring.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High-level efficiency of hand tools, power tools, drill presses, grinders, etc.
- Knowledge of safe working practices with rotating and high voltage machinery.
- General understanding of OSHA requirements including lock-out/tag-out, confined spaces, SDS, etc.
- Working knowledge of motor control circuits.
- Understand local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Ability to disassemble and assemble gearboxes and pumps.
- Ability to identify and measure critical tolerances or dimensions.
- Ability to know when gearboxes and pumps need alignment.
- Ability to work cohesively with other team members, and to contribute positively to the work environment.
Experience:
- Experience with extrusion or lamination machines or comparable manufacturing processes.
- Experience with industrial process equipment and instrumentation.
- Familiar with PLC ladder logic and editing.
- 5+ years on hands-on experience in electrical and instrumentation roles.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, PLCs, VFDs, and DCS systems.
- Competence in the use of test instruments such as multimeters, calibrators, and loop testers.
Education and Certifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
- HS diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and programming.
- Familiarity with control systems, field instrumentation, and motor controls.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety conscious environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Be on your feet for 10-12 hours
- Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted.
- Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
- Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
