LARGE MANUFACTURING PLANT IN VALENCIA CA IS LOOKING FOR TWO 2ND SHIFT MAINTENANCE MECHANICS. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE THAT IS STRONG WITH PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE. 

SHIFT: 3PM-11PM  MONDAY-FRIDAY WITH SOME SATURDAYS

PAY RATE: $25-$29

BENEFITS START DAY 1, 401K AFTER 90 DAYS
 

Summary

The Preventive Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing all preventive maintenance procedures on production equipment. Preventive maintenance will be performed on non-production and production scheduled shifts in packaging, blending and encapsulation departments. The Preventive Maintenance mechanic will be responsible for completing all weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled. The preventive maintenance mechanic will also identify equipment damaged from misuse or wear and tear, and either make appropriate repairs or escalate the issue to the maintenance manager. They will do this by working cross functionally across the maintenance department with the mechanics and technical operators. The preventive maintenance mechanics will assist mechanics and technical operators as needed. The Preventive Maintenance mechanic will be at the forefront of the process to restore production equipment to OEM condition and help sustain it in that condition by taking ownership of all production equipment in conjunction with technical operators and mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and / or assigned.
  • Inspect the integrity of the equipment and determine potential equipment failures and report area of concerns and determination for corrective action to the maintenance lead and / or supervisor.
  • Inspect and determine corrective action on equipment issues that are an employee and / or a food safety hazard.
  • Inspect process and utilities equipment, to determine ways to increase proficiency and lower cost.
  • Complete work order tasks as scheduled and / or assigned.
  • Good attendance is a must and must be flexible to work overtime including weekends.
  • Ability to use and operate hand tools, power tools.
  • Ability to use Electrical diagnostic tools (multi-meter, insulation checker, amp meter, oscilloscope.)
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Other tasks as assigned, by a supervisor or management.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge

Education:

High School Diploma/Equivalent or Trade school certification or a combination of education

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience or training.
  • Experience or knowledge in lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Previous experience working in manufacturing industry.
  • Understanding of and familiar with current Good Manufacture Practices (cGMP) and current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP).

Skills/ Abilities

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Problem Solving skills.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems.
  • Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System knowledge desired
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Flexibility/ adaptability/ multi-tasking

Work Environment

The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Field conditions vary.

Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (i.e. milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to talk, hear and grasp items. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

The employee must frequently grasp, lift and/or move items over 10 pounds and will occasionally lift and/or move items up to 55 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
