Maintenance Mechanic Opening needed in Springfield OR. Looking for someone on the 3rd shift. Looking for someone strong mechanically and electrically. Looking for someone who can troubleshoot PLCs. 

3rd Shift: 9:50pm-6:20am

Pay Rate $27.68 (Regular Mechanic) to $33.60 (Master Mechanic)

Purpose (clear statement to define the purpose of the position)

This position is responsible to perform maintenance activities which support the entire Springfield operation. Cooperation with the maintenance leadership and operations personnel for execution of work to be performed is vital.
Ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, efficient manner, in accordance with plant procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
Proactive troubleshooting, communication, and resolution of equipment performance issues with both the Maintenance and Operations team is required. Continuous development and formal training to increase skill level is essential. Individual must be qualified as a Mechanic. 

Key Accountabilities    Key Activities
1.    Safety     
•    Maintains a safe working environment, functioning as a member of a cooperative team and encourages participation in leading safety work. 
•    Understands and adheres to personal and food safety standards established.
•    Knowledge of, can demonstrate and train others in LOTO, Working at Heights, ARC Flash, Chemical Safety and other programs common in a manufacturing environment.   
•    Perform maintenance safety and quality standards are being respected by team members
•    Understands and is able to perform lockout tagout (LOTO) 

2.    Manufacturing Preventive / Predictive and Corrective   Maintenance    
•    Perform skilled repair and maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and shears, welding equipment, electronic diagnostic, and mill as well as miscellaneous fabrication equipment. , 
•    Efficiently and successfully perform work assignments based on work assigned by the supervisor, planner and lead mechanic.  
•    Ensure Work level and performance is maintained to the highest standard. These will be reviewed by the Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Manager (Work is considered: Work orders, emergency repairs, Line walks to identify required repairs, assisting production, meetings, paperwork completion. Etc.)
•    Keep complete and accurate records on all maintenance data. Ensure all work orders, preventive maintenance, emergency calls, and parts used, are logged into the maintenance CMMS system to ensure everything essential is captured.
•    Tour and network regularly with other departments. Examine objects, systems, and facilities. Analyse information to determine needed services or repairs. Share data to maintenance planning system, lead, planner, and supervisor.
•    Inspect, execute and monitor work in operational areas, examine tools and equipment to detect and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures, safety rules, and cleanliness.
•    Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.
•    Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
•    Interpret specifications, blueprints, schematics and work orders to perform and or assist in repairs.
•    Coordinate with lead, planner, and supervisor in the correction/modification of work instructions that provide direction to the Maintenance department. 
•    Perform or lead maintenance for maintenance hand off meeting
•    Review open work orders that were not completed on previous shift and reassign them to on coming shift, so they are completed timely
•    Provide training to shift Mechanics
•    Perform planned, Preventative and Predictive  maintenance activities according to schedule.  Attention to detail is critical.  Ability to follow work instructions and communicate issues discovered.
•    Technical skills in mechanical, pneumatics, liquid flow, piping, steam, Refrigeration,  Lubrication, electrical and some controls is needed to bring equipment back to like-new condition.
•    Clean, inspect, and replace worn parts to keep equipment in optimal condition.
•    Update PM Task procedures and Predictive maintenance tasks  as needed, seek continuous improvement.
•    Read, enter information, check out parts in Maintenance Management System.

3.    Troubleshooting    
•    Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of equipment operation deficiencies, identify contributing factors, and correct efficiently and effectively.
•    Knowledge of multimeters for electrical troubleshooting is necessary.  Experience reading technical manuals and one-line diagrams is beneficial.
•    Troubleshoot/Repair Electrical or controls issues

4.    Maintain Production Flow
     Facility Maintenance
    •    Assist in the development, implementation, and/or evaluation of maintenance policies and procedures.
•    Work with operators, learning and training, on optimal run conditions.  Help inexperienced maintenance and operators understand what is not normal and how to react.
•    Be responsive to equipment performance issues before breakdown.  Act promptly in equipment downtime situations.  Be proactive and active on the production floor.
•    Ability to execute Basic Electrical, plumbing, structural and mechanical repairs as needed from time to time. Sustain, maintain and seek continuous improvement as needed in our facility properties. 
•    Ensure adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, CODES, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE).

?    High School diploma or GED required.  
?    Technical training/ certification preferred in mechanical/pneumatic/ electrical/refrigeration trade.
?    Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.

•    Ability to navigate and decipher ladder logic programs to aid in troubleshooting preferred
•    Illustrative Essential Functions: (i.e., attendance, hours of work, after hours requirements, sitting, typing, lifting, ability to learn, driving, etc.)
•    Must be able to adjust schedule to support 24/7 manufacturing, may include working hours outside of a typical day shift, including weekends as needed.
•    Wear personal protective equipment daily; continuously reach, push/pull; frequently twist; occasionally stoop/bend; intermittently crouch, climb, and balance; use hands for repetitive fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and simple grasp; and talk and hear under noisy conditions. Visual acuity and taste to discern product variation. 
•    Must have the ability to apply common sense and understanding when carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.   
•    Must have the ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize and organize various tasks.
•    Must have the ability to demonstrate superb decision-making skills to determine the best course of action when performing the responsibilities of the job
•    Must demonstrate the ability to identify potential challenges within the process and when to notify leadership to prevent process failures 
•    Working conditions frequently includes a cool indoor food production environment and occasional freezer environment, and intermittent outdoor environment. Clean environment, requiring hand washing every time you go on the floor 20+/- times a day.
