nThis position is for a Long Beach facility.  The schedule for this position has a start time between 6 am and 7 am (6 am – 3 pm or 7 am – 4 pm), with an hour lunch and overtime as needed.

nJob Summary:
nThis position is responsible for supporting the Quality Control activities of testing of raw materials (RM) and finished goods (FG), creation of RM and finished goods specifications. This role involves maintenance of the Supplier Qualification program.
n
nResponsibilities:
nThe Quality Control Specialist is responsible for following and documenting quality procedures, programs and functions in a food and dietary manufacturing environment regulated by FDA and certified bodies.
n• Updates and maintains the Supplier Qualification program for raw materials and components.
n• Creates and reviews raw material specifications and finished goods specifications testing
nrequirements for new and changed specifications.
n• Prepares and sends samples to CMO/3rd party testing sites as it applies to Quality Control testing
nor raw materials, components, in-process, and customer samples.
n• Tracks and receives 3rd party testing results and prepares RM release records for management
napproval.
n• Reviews FG testing results to ensure product meet approved specifications.
n• Prepares FP CofAs for management review and approval to release.
n• Participates in regulatory inspections and 3rd party audits as required.
n• Contribute to the Material Review Board and Quality Management meetings.
n• Support collaborative environment and teamwork in meeting organizational goals.

n$22.79/hr – $28.48/hr DOE

nQualifications: (Competencies, Minimum Education Requirements, Training or Experience)
n• BS Degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related fields preferred.
n• 2-3 years related work experience.
n• Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel and
nWord.
n• Excellent verbal, communication, and written skills
n• Attention to detail
n• Result-oriented
n• Self-motivated and organized
