nJOB Description: Automation & Controls Engineer II
nn
nSummary:
nn
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Automation & Controls Engineer will develop and implement company automation and control and controls standards. The Automation & Controls Engineer will work with the plant maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment and with IT and MES team to maintain our industrial network and process data storage systems.

Major Job Duties:
nn
· Knowledge of environmental rules and regulations.
nn
· Adhere to and follow Company policies and safety regulations .
nn
· Design and implement machine controls systems for automation equipment.
nn
· PLC programing, Motion Control programing, and HMI programming at machine control level.
nn
· Create electrical designs, schematics, programs, and other related software applications for automation equipment.
nn
· Configuration and commissioning of machines.
nn
· Collaborate with and support other engineers to ensure successful design integration and functionality
nn
· Support for troubleshooting electrical problems with all plant equipment including presses, furnaces, manipulators & cranes.
nn
· Manage program and schematic history.
nn
· Improve performance and reduce downtime on presses, furnaces, manipulators, and CNC machines through control system optimization.
nn
· Responsible to participate in team related activities, as well as ISO Auditing as requested.
nn
· Assist with implementation of annual shutdowns for maintenance purposes which may include to work during weekends and holidays.
nn
· Document and maintain specifications for new equipment.
nn

Qualifications:
nn
· Must be able to comply with ITAR and EAR residency requirements
nn
· Proficient in Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software programming and troubleshooting. Experience with WinCC, TIA Portal, FactoryTalk View and Studio 500 & 5000
nn
· Experience with Siemens Allen Bradley motion controllers
nn
· Experience working with AutoCAD and developing control schematics
nn
· Experience with a variety of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic devices commonly used in automation (e.g. ball screws, gear boxes, servo motors, sensors, regulators, solenoids, etc.)
nn
· Familiar with CE, UL, NEC, IEC 60204-1, NFPA 79, ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061 and other related regulatory standards on electrical design and safety

· Familiar with PackML, Grafcet (SFC), and other related programming methodologies for automation equipment
nn
nn
Education/Experience:
nn
· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
nn
· Minimum 5 years of experience working in the field of manufacturing automation or similar
nn
· Preferred experience in SCADA systems/historians, OSI Pi historian, SQL server
