“COST ACCOUNTANT OPENING WITH A LARGE FOOD MANUFACTURING PLANT IN LANCASTER PA. PREFER SOMEONE OUT OF FOOD MANUFACTURING AND MUST HAVE A BACHELOR'S DEGREE. SALARY RANGE IS 85-95K. GREAT OPPORTUNITY WITH A GROWING ORGANIZATION.

nCost Accountant 
n 
nReports to: Head of Finance 
n 
nJob purpose: Provides guidance to Senior Management on pricing and cost related business decisions.   
nKey responsibilities and accountabilities:  
n•    Application of Costing Model to new products proposed by Sales and R&D 
n•    Maintenance of Costing Model to ensure accuracy of costing to standards. 
n•    Monitoring cost variances 
n•    Analyzing pricing and margins of products and defining optimal price points 
n•    Maintenance of material master and bill of material in the ERP system and ensuring accuracy of the data 
n•    Calculating and implementing cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead 
n•    Preparing cost of goods sold and production reports 
n•    Analyzing various product and operational costs 
n•    Performing other month-end close activities 
n•    Performing annual standard cost updates as appropriate 
n•    Assisting in the budget process – cost of sales and other expense accounts as assigned 
n•    Completing the annual inventory standard re-cost 
n•    Other Accounting Duties as assigned by senior management

nEducation:  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
