SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, directs and coordinates activities of Maintenance Employees in production  department(s) and overall facility by planning and directing the following activities, tasks, and duties: 

nn

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

nn

Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures as directed by the Maintenance Manager or other direct supervisor or company management regarding operating methods, safety  and behavior. Insures that all employees for which this position is responsible are operating within  established company and governmental regulations.

Review results of supervised workers activities by analyzing available information, compare them to  company objectives, budgeted KCV's and expense budgets, and takes steps to ensure that measures  are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.

Insures proper plant cleanliness and Good Manufacturing Practices are maintained at all times.  Inspects equipment to verify optimal operating condition and directs setup and adjustments of  machines.

Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of  processes. 

nn

Reviews production schedules to ascertain optimal timing of Work Order and Preventive maintenance activities. 

nn

Works closely with Production Management personnel to coordinate work so that optimal operating  conditions are maintained with zero machine/process downtime. 

nn

Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure  compliance with standards.  

nn

Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance  problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Leads Problem-Solving Teams as needed to allow continued improvement in Maintenance and Manufacturing Processes. 

nn

Initiate Purchase requisitions for services or materials. Follows up with vendors to facilitate electrical work.  Performing preventive and predictive maintenance and calibrations on equipment. 

nn

Electrical troubleshooting and repair of PLC systems.  Maintains inventory and equipment to ensure smooth office operation. 

nn

Accountable for the coordination, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and communication of electrical maintenance work to ensure a safe work environment and maximum reliability of all facility equipment.  Lead the Predictive Maintenance portion of TPM Pillar 3 including vibration analysis, infrared analysis, and oil analysis.

Compiles, stores and retrieves operational data. 

nn

Follows up on ALL customer request and questions to ensure appropriate response is made and  customer is satisfied. 

nn

Treats all customers (both internal and external) with respect, courtesy and kindness.  Upholds and complies with policies and attitudes adopted by the company.  Other duties may be assigned to meet company goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

nn

Supervises the hourly Maintenance staff. Interview and selection of candidates. Disciplinary action and documentation. Assigns duties to Maintenance personnel via written and oral instructions. Trains new and existing employees on proper operation and safety procedures. Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Director of Manufacturing for action.

Prepares work schedules for maintenance crew and expedites workflow.  In conjunction with Maintenance Manager, reviews amount of work to be done, estimates man-hours needed to complete work and insures work is complete within the allotted time. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

nn

5 years working experience with electrical from 120 volt-1 phase up and including 240/480 volt-3 phase electric. Working knowledge of electronics background and/or industrial controls, including AllenBradley PLC’s.  Knowledge of MP2, Root Cause Analysis, and TPM exposure/experience.

Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

nn

LANGUAGE SKILLS

nn

 Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and

nn

procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS 

nn

Full knowledge and comprehension of electrical codes, ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Able to read and understand blueprints and electrical diagrams effectively. PC skillsproficient in Microsoft Office, preferably advanced software knowledge in Word and Excel. Knowledge of CMMS
