“JOB TITLE:  Equipment Maintenance Technician
nMinimum Required Qualifications:
nMust have proficient communications skills both verbal and written.
nMust have proficient math skills.
nMust have proficient analytical skills.
nMust have proficient problem solving skills.
nAble to use volt meter to check AC/DC voltage
nStrong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical.
nStrong understanding of Pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuators and controls.
nStrong  understanding of hydraulic system operations
nAbility to troubleshoot electrical systems using a schematic diagram
nAble to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings
nUnderstanding of PLC logic controls
nSkilled in the use of tool room machinery such as MIG and/or TIG weld, Lathes,  Drill Press, Band Saw, and other metal working machinery
nAbility to drive a fork lift is required
nMust possess a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
nAS degree in Industrial Technologies or Trade School and
n5+ years work experience as a maintenance technician on production manufacturing equipment.

nWill receive general training and orientation that will include;
n-Plant Safety and Emergency Procedures
n-OSHA Required Safety Programs.
n-LOTO –Lock out/Tag-out procedures
n-Handling of Chemicals training.

nDuties and Responsibilities
nRead machine assembly drawings and electrical schematics to indentify machine malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems
nAdjust mechanical assemblies and control systems to correct machine malfunctions
nDesign and fabricate metal product for production equipment.
nWork with maintenance department managers to analyze machine failures and develop plans to reduce downtime
nAnalyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
nObserve and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
nExamine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
nDisassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
nClean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
nAssist in the installation new and used equipment as instructed by manager
nUpgrade existing equipment as instructed by manager
nHelp in writing and revising PM checklist and procedures for assigned equipment
nTraining of junior level mechanics.
nPerform preventive maintenance of equipment
nIdentification of spare parts
nDocuments all work performed daily.
nSubmit purchase order request for parts.
nResponsible for performing other tasks as instructed by Supervisor or Manager.

nWorking Conditions:
nContinual walking and standing on hard surface, climbing and descending steps.
nContinual bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
nExposed to cool, hot temperatures and noise.
nMust be able to stand for long periods of time
nTemperatures ranging to very warm conditions
nLoud noises generated from equipment
