“Job Summary:
nSupervise production employees, completes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
nRecommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Responsible for the indirect supervision of other Department team members and will keep their managers informed of their performance and activities.

nEducation & Experience:
nBachelor of Science in Management/Operations and 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership position
nOR related AA Degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Food Manufacturing industry in a supervisory position.
nExperience in USDA, FDA or CA Dept. food manufacturing standards.
nExperience in HACCP and HAZMAT.

nMust be able to:
n1.Manage new and multiple projects from conception to commercialization.

n18.Must be able to comply with and follow all food safety, and third-party certification policies (SQF, Gluten-Free and Organic, etc.).

nEssential Functions/ Duties and Responsibilities:
n1.Responsible for implementing the safety program and safety procedures.
n2.Responsible for directly supervising the production staff.
n3.Indirect supervision of Maintenance/S&R crew/Sanitation crew (especially during off shifts).
n4.Must provide presence on the floor and office hours.
n5.Training and preparation of Production Crew: Goals and objectives, KPI’s, production schedules, training sessions.
n6.Responsible for preparing and conducting employee performance reviews (45 days, 90 days, yearly).
n7.Responsible for coaching, counseling, and providing discipline to personnel as needed and enforcing all company rules, policies, and procedures.
n8.Maintain accurate (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) production reports.
n9.Assist the department manager to develop and update job descriptions for each position.
n10.Responsible for developing and enforcing SOP’s as needed.
n11.Responsible for ensuring that areas are maintained cleaned, safe, and organized at all times.
n12.Responsible for reporting equipment malfunctions immediately. Verify that the equipment is maintained in adequate operating conditions.
n13.Verify that preventive maintenance program is effective and meets production needs (meeting downtime standards).
n14.Shall verify company compliance to NSF superior rating standards.
n15.Shall keep up to date and organized production records.
n16.Shall conduct “Preoperational Inspections” as needed.
n17.Shall assist management on new equipment purchasing.
n18.Responsible for meeting production standards ensuring that products meet quality first time standards.
n19.Responsible for meeting yield and waste standards.
n20.Shall be highly proficient with company line of products.
n21.Responsible for accurately calculating and recording production per line, line efficiencies, waste, and downtime.
n22.Shall support maintenance and S & R as needed. Ensuring that all personnel from all departments are always productive.
n23.Shall support maintenance and S & R by providing feedback to department heads in regards individual performance.
n24.Responsible for keeping personnel motivated, productive and well informed.
n25.Responsible for maintaining excellent and professional employee relations.
n26.Responsible for promoting teamwork at all levels and between the departments.

nFood Experience required
nBilingual a plus
nMore of an admin type supervisor, less hands on
nStrong Leadership needed/good with reports/computers/food standards
