nJOB DESCRIPTION: Sr. Automation Project Engineer
n
nGeneral Description:
nAutomation Project Manager is responsible to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, repairs and rebuilds equipment, oversees the entire mechanical design process, and assist as a technical expert on specialized design projects and works independently on various projects as assigned by the Engineering Director

nSpecific Responsibilities & Duties:n
- nt
- Provides a safe working environment and ensures all Engineering personnel understand and adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) at all times.nt
- Interacts with production staff to maintain efficiency on the lines. Communicates work priorities to all members of the technical team. nt
- Participates in plant management production meetings. nt
- Writes effective machine repair work orders, including technical information. Plans and schedules repair work. nt
- Shifts technical resources, identifies training needs. Coaches, trains, and develops maintenance technicians and technical operators in repair, preventive and predictive maintenance principles. nt
- Conducts on the job training along with classroom training. nt
- Utilizes production Work Orders to schedule and obtain information for line set-ups and equipment maintenance.nt
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment, mechanical and electrical. Able to read electrical schematics and diagrams.nt
- Executes preventive maintenance schedule. Writes preventative maintenance plans and work orders and schedule as required.nt
- Maintains housekeeping in conformance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) standards.nt
- Demonstrates leadership nt
- Functional and operational knowledge of PLC’s and related control software. nt
- Shift resource for machine technical information. nt
- Communicate shift priorities to the technical team. nt
- Performs on the job training and classroom training to achieve a fully cross trained technical group. nt
- Works on several concurrent projects and is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Mechanical Engineering Discipline Duties n

nQualifications:nn

- High school education or equivalent.nt
- B.E. specializing in Machine Tool Technology, Mechanical or Electrical is preferrednt
- 4+ years’ experience in Engineering Management role; preferably in cosmetics process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry.nt
- 5+ years of mechanical / electrical experience in a high-speed consumer packaging environment; preferably in cosmetics process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industrynt
- Familiar with fillers, labelers, ink jet coders, laser coders, PLC’s. Familiarity with the following equipment or similar equipment in other industries: Pacific 18 head Rotary Fillers, Cartoners, Pack West Cappers, Kalish Fillers, Accrapply Labelers, Sherwood Labeler, Rotary Labeler, Biner Ellison, Video Jet Coders, Norden Servo Tube Fillers, MRM Filler, Shrink Wrappers, 3M case sealer, Axon Heat Tunnels, and New England bottle Un-scrambler.nt
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.nt
- Able to work all shifts.nt
- Must supply own hand tools as pertaining to job requirements.nt
- Must have a Valid California driver’s license.nt
- Strong English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.nt
- Strong math and analytical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division nt
- Advance PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred.nt
- Able to work independently and as a team playernt
