“PLC CONTROL TECHNICIAN OPENINGS ON DAY SHIFT IN STEPHENVILLE TEXAS ON DAY SHIFT. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ROLE IN A SAND PAPER MANUFACTURING PLANT.

nPAY RANGE: $30-38 HR

nSHIFT INFO: 6:30AM-3PM MON-FRIDAY WITH SOME WEEKENDS WHEN NEEDED AND WEEKENDS ARE OVERTIME.

nMUST HAVES: These are the automation controls: ABB RSLOGIX 500, ABB Drive set up and programming, ABB SLC 500 platform are all required. Siemens Simatic Step 7 is preferred)

nPOSITION SUMMARY (What are the end results or objectives of this position and who benefits?)
nProvide Control System design, engineering, installation, and maintenance support to Coated Abrasives
nconversion-manufacturing operations.
nESSENTIAL DUTIES (What functions and responsibilities does this position perform to achieve the above summary?)
n1. Participate in the engineering design, selection, installation, and documentation of control systems (including
nsensor, device, and motor selections) for new and existing manufacturing machines and equipment. Support
nassembly, installation, wiring, and required sign-off procedures of control cabinetry, control panels, sensors,
ndevices, and motors on equipment according to CAD drawings.
n2. Work closely with equipment vendors during development cycle to assure that Saint-Gobain’s operation and
nmaintenance requirements are being achieved. Contribute to project scheduling activities and commit to
nfollowing schedules to their timely completion.
n3. Assist in the development, modification, and installation of distributed and integrated process control systems
nhardware and software (including sensor logic, motor control logic, and safety/exception/error handling logic)
nto perform at the maximum process capability while ensuring compatibility.
n4. Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and instructions for the purpose of acquiring components,
ntesting, debugging, and installation of control system hardware. Participate in reviews and revisions of
ncontrol aspects of all CAD drawings, Bill of Material specifications, assembled control equipment, PLC and
nMotion Control Design, and all integration activities/plans.
n5. Develop and execute stand-alone equipment control, and manufactured control system test/exercise plans.
n6. Provide technical direction and support to maintenance personnel and other team members in station
nintegration activities.
n7. Troubleshoot machine control systems using engineering prints, flow diagrams, schematics, logic drawings,
ntechnical manuals, and other references available. Utilize all available troubleshooting equipment including
ncomputers, measuring devices, meters, gauges, scopes, etc. to isolate system failures and restore machinery
nto running condition with minimal downtime.
n8. Utilize Computed Aided Design Systems to document new designs and modifications to existing designs.
n9. Assist in the training of other maintenance personnel on electrical/control aspects of integrated equipment.
nServe as technical resource to personnel using the systems to increase employee effectiveness and meet
nobjectives for user service and education.
n10. Accept special assignments or projects as assigned by supervision. Attend and participate in continuous
nimprovement meetings and projects as assigned.
n11. Observe safety rules, housekeeping, and federal, state, and local regulations at all times.
n12. Interact effectively within a team-oriented work group, taking directions from team project engineers and all
nothers assigned or as necessary to achieve project objectives that is on time, on schedule, within budget, and
ntechnically correct.
n13. Utilize color perception in working with electrical wiring or other equipment.
n14. Assist in installation, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
nas required.
n15. All other duties as assigned.

n75% Technical support and direction to maintenance and value streams with the key focus of
ntroubleshooting electrical, mechanical and control systems.
n10% Technical support for the continuous improvement projects related the upgrade of control

n10% Work closely with equipment vendors during development cycle to assure that operation and
nmaintenance requirements are being achieved.
n5% Training maintenance personnel in trouble shooting utilizing necessary tools and methods
navailable.
nOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties performed occasionally or in addition to essential duties.)
n1. Performs other operations or functions as directed by management.
nMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED (List specific education, experience, training/certifications, proficiencies
nneeded. Must support the essential duties and serve as primary criteria for selecting/rejecting candidates)
n1. Possess a 2-4 year technical/electronic engineering degree or 5-8 years equivalent experience with control
nsystems background.
n2. Possess a thorough working knowledge of complex automated manufacturing equipment, computer
ntechnologies and programming languages to effectively and efficiently perform installation, diagnosis and
nrepair/maintenance of control systems and their related logic systems.
n3. Possess electrical knowledge and designation as a qualified person under NFPA-70E.
n4. Ability to develop, read and interpret engineering schematics, drawings, technical manuals and other
nnecessary references. Ability to interpret statistical process data in evaluating equipment performance.
n5. Possess working knowledge of diagnostic/troubleshooting equipment including computers, diagnostic
nsoftware, measuring devices, calibration equipment, specialized hand tools, etc. needed for performing
nduties.
n6. Possess excellent organizational, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
n7. Ability and willingness to implement team concepts and continuous improvement in working with other
nemployees.
n8. Must utilize all required personal protective equipment.
n9. Must participate as a team member in a 12 week WCM Green Belt project within 6 months of position entry.
n10. Utilize tools and knowledge acquired from Green Belt project team participation to lead and successfully
ncomplete a WCM project. Completion of a WCM Yellow Belt certification or above within 1 year of position
nentry is required to remain in position/grade level.”
