nAccountability Objective:
nTo supervise, manage, and facilitate the operations of multiple manufacturing teams to achieve quality, production, service, profitability, and safety objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner.
n
nPrincipal End Results:
n60% Supervise, manage and facilitate the operations of multiple manufacturing teams to achieve quality, production, service, profitability, and safety objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner. Monitor, maintain, and promote continuous improvements in departmental performance and keep management informed of current status and future requirements.
n25% Participate in and serve as a direct resource in identifying, implementing, or managing projects at the Stephenville site to improve manufacturing operations. Apply technical knowledge of all products, processes, and operations to improve quality, profitability, service, and safety. 
n15% Ensure compliance with all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations regarding safety, housekeeping, and personnel management.

nConduct other projects as assigned.
n• Directly responsible for supervising, managing, and facilitating the operations of multiple teams at the facility to achieve quality, cost, production, service, and safety objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner.
n
nOperations include manufacturing, raw material (jumbo) storage, shipping, receiving and customer service.
n• Assists teams in developing priorities and actions consistent with the organization's vision and goals.
n• Participate in and supports a team environment where employees assume responsibility for their work.
n• Develops self-leadership capabilities of team members, assisting them to make decisions, take reasonable risks, and become as self-managing as possible.
n• Provide assistance, direction, and support for work teams, ensuring that they have the information and resources needed and provides coordination with other departments to achieve production, service, quality, and cost goals.
n• Responsible for monitoring overall departmental performance, implementing corrective action, and keeps management informed of the team’s progress.
n• Help teams and team members identify developmental needs and opportunities for both current and future responsibilities.
n• Encourage cross training of team members, ensuring that team members are adequately trained and technically capable.
n• Acts as a supervisor/facilitator for work teams, assisting them in hiring, performance evaluation, compensation, training, discipline, conflict resolution, terminations, and professional development.
n• Provides helpful and constructive feedback to the teams as appropriate, and handles disciplinary situations as needed.
n• Maintains open communication and facilitates collaborative relationships between assigned teams and other departments, management, and internal customers.
n• Identifies, manages, participates in or serves as a direct resource on projects at the site to improve manufacturing operations; Operations Supervisor will keep abreast of major projects, organizational goals and objectives, major changes, and stays current on issues and opportunities at the facility.
n• Applies technical knowledge of all products, processes, and operations in problem identification and resolution. Competency includes quality concepts, equipment operation, product application, process flow, safety, and a basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, and process capability.
n• Investigates and initiates process improvements, interfacing with the technical staff to ensure proper support.
n• Ensures correct application of manufacturing specifications; directs teams in conducting quality checks on material in process; maintains and monitors departmental reporting; and supplies feedback to others while keeping management informed of current status and future requirements of the department.
n• Leads team members in the process of identifying, implementing, and monitoring continuous improvement projects in the areas of cost, quality, service, and safety.
n• Leads team members in interactions with Coated Abrasives customers to improve our position as a value-added supplier.
n• Monitors team performance in service, cost, and quality, assisting them in establishing and attaining improvement goals in each area.
n• Ensures compliance with all company policies and local, state, and federal mandates regarding safety, housekeeping, and personnel management.
n• Supervises team members in developing and utilizing Job Safety Analyses, conducting monthly safety meetings, performing safety audits, training, and conducting incident investigations; he/she ensures that safety standards and requirements are understood and complied with by all team members.
n• Conducts other projects as assigned.

nBachelor's degree in Engineering or Management (with technical background) or equivalent experience is  preferred.
nA minimum of 4-6 years of progressive management and/or manufacturing related experience is required.
nThe Operations Supervisor must have the ability and willingness to coach, facilitate, and interact with employees in a team environment. A thorough knowledge of safety management, auditing, and quality concepts, including advanced SPC, is required.
nThe Operations Supervisor should be able to demonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. They must also demonstrate analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement solutions. They should possess the ability to learn and stay current on technical aspects of all departmental processes, products, and operations.
nWorking knowledge of personal computer software, including Word and Excel is required.”
