“LARGE CONSUMER GOODS MANUFACTURING PLANT IN MANISTEE MICHIGAN NEEDS A MAINTENANCE & RELIABILITY ENGINEERING MANAGER. LOOKING FOR A STRONG MAINTENANCE MANAGER OUT OF MANUFACTURING WITH RELIABILITY AND ENGINEERING. SALARY RANGE IS 130-150K. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE WITH THIS COMPANY IN A SIGNING BONUS.

nOur primary equipment includes shakers, belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, pumps, gearboxes, and motors.  ‘Commodity’ (my term for maintenance that applies to multiple and/or different pieces of equipment) items include belt drives, equipment alignment, base set up, basic machining, lubrication practices, and if possible, vibration analysis troubleshooting.  The applicant must have a solid knowledge and skill set with this type of equipment and ‘Commodity’ maintenance skill set.  Specialty equipment includes the turbine generator, boiler, and bemis bagger, consolidated bagger, and super sack system.  We would have to train on these items.  Any experience with similar equipment would be a bonus to us.

nWe are looking for someone who has rebuild or installed pumps, gearboxes. Who has performed machining, lathe, end mill. Also, someone with Autocad or solid work experience. A bonus is someone who has worked with SAP.

nDescription
nMaintain a safe working environment.  Understand, follow, and support Company policies, procedures, (i.e. lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space, etc.) in addition to corporate and local safety initiatives.  Assume responsibility for risk assessment.  Manage and encourage all employees and contractors to be proactive in the area of safety, including anticipating unsafe behaviors, conditions, and unusual circumstances.
nPrepare projects and supervise the installation of assigned projects.  This includes reporting on project approval and ensuring the completion of the project functions as intended.
nResponsible for the overall operations of maintenance, buildings, grounds, and yard departments.
nAssist the production departments as requested.  Maintain equipment for operational efficiency, expedite equipment repairs, increase plant efficiency, and offer training to operational personnel as identified.
nEnsure operating personnel training is conducted through the Maintenance Supervisors, OJT, and Apprenticeship Program.
nProvide supervision and technical expertise on major machinery, equipment and building breakdowns, overhauls, and maintenance.
nMonitor and log critical records for the computerized maintenance management system.
nAvailable as required to direct maintenance work efforts in the absence of supervisors.
nAdminister the Collective Bargaining Agreement and plant policies.
nAccept special assignments, responsibilities, and duties as they arise.
nResponsible for ensuring compliance with all Food Safety Program requirements in the facility through the completion of work by the maintenance department, contractor, capital, and expense projects and other improvements.  
nInform the General Manager and QC Manager of any issues, understanding the importance of product quality, integrity, safety, and legality.

nIs familiar with the Environmental Management System policy, procedures or work instructions and understands the potential consequences of departure from the requirements.  Notify management of any observed potential compliance issues or nonconformities.
