nPosition Overview
nServes as a working Manager that maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources through planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.  In accordance with Federal Standards, develops policies, as needed, and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services.

nJob Duties:
n•    Leads all HR operations of 800+ employee beef processing plant.  This includes the leadership, mentorship, and career development for all HR team members.
n•    Plays a key role in driving the Company’s culture, succession management, leadership development and assessment.
n•    Establishes and maintains effective and supportive relationships with plant management and employees.
n•    Oversees the on-boarding and in-processing for employees new to the plant and the off-boarding of employees exiting the plant.
n•    Maintains a positive employee relations environment for the entire facility.
n•    Handles workplace investigations or other inquiries regarding employees, Supervisors, Managers, and vendors as necessary.
n•    Reports on production employee retention for the facility and assists in maintaining it at an acceptable level to achieve production goals.
n•    Coordinates all staffing functions for exempt and non-exempt employment, including but not limited to recruitment, orientation, and training.
n•    Manages the employee benefits program.  This includes working closely with insurances brokers, managing open enrollment, and providing training to all new hires regarding benefits. 
n•    Provides coaching, mentoring, and assistance to Supervisors and Managers as it relates to handling of employee issues, including but not limited to disciplinary actions and termination meetings.
n•    Represents company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
n•    Manages the functional areas of human resources including, but not limited to, recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, training, AA/EEO, FMLA administration, investigations, and special projects.
n•    Manages the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures through employee handbooks, communications, and/or meetings.
nQualifications:
n
n•    Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, or other similar fields including at least seven (7) years of dynamic leadership experience as an HR Manager with manufacturing or food processing environment.
n•    Experience in a strategic HR leadership role – proactive employee relations and influencing culture.
n•    HR Management experience over a sizable employee population (400+ employees).
n•    Experience in providing valuable HR coaching, guidance, thought leadership, and HR business partnership in a fast-paced environment.
n•    Technically sound in HR fundamentals and best practices and the application of them within a manufacturing environment.
n•    Must have a strong understanding of employment law and compliance needs.
n•    Servant leadership with a passion for customer service.
n•    Must be humble, patient, inquisitive, collaborative, innovative, results-oriented, and resilient.
n•    Knowledge of HRIS systems.
n•    Excellent communication skills, both in a one-on-one and group setting.
n•    Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
n•    Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
n•    Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed including occasional weekends.
nWork Environment & Physical Demands
n
nMuch of the time is spent in an office setting within the production plant. Must be able to go to production floor.  That plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
n•    Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
n•    Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
n•    Frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
