nSummary Description:
nThe PLC Tech is responsible for designing, programming, repairing, and maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) systems used within Refresco facilities. The PLC Tech inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications. May support repairs and installations for other advanced production/manufacturing equipment. The PLC Tech diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes more complicated repairs or adjustments as needed.

nEssential Functions:
nPerform preventative maintenance on PLC systems
nProgram or perform repairs on PLC systems
nPerform preventative maintenance or repairs on more advanced production equipment as needed
nPerform breakdown analysis
nOversee or perform general housekeeping
nUpgrade production lines with new/upgraded equipment/technology
nDirect activities of outside contractors working on assigned line
nChange line for package changeovers
nUnderstand and complete PLC control updates and revisions to support V curve performance
nAble to troubleshoot and write code in Ladder Logic (LD)
nAble to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on Device Net
nTrack all temporary repairs made in logic via CMMS/EXCEL and follow through to bring equipment back to basic conditions
nAble to accomplish tasks with minimal guidance
nEnforce GMP, safety, and audit standards
nWork independently under limited supervision (self-management)
nDocumentation of work schedule and work tasks completed

nRequired Skills and Competencies:
nPass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas
nExperience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
nExperience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
nExperience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.).
nExperience with PLC (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems, etc.).
nExperience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
nExperience with schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays).
nExperience with troubleshooting (e.g., diagnostics, problem solving, etc.).

nEducation and Experience:
nBS in Control Engineering or equivalent demonstrated skill
