nPosition Summary
n
nThe Product Introduction Manager is central to the successful development and commercialization of new and revised food products.  This person will use his/her knowledge and technical expertise to manage the planning, organization and coordination of Commercial Plant Testing.  He/she will ensure effective development of in-plant processes, new equipment and ingredients testing, and the improvement of manufacturing efficiencies and cost-down efforts.  This is a managerial role and may oversee subordinate staff.

nPosition Essential Duties and Responsibilities
n
nNew and Revised Product Introduction:
n
nResponsible for execution to introduce new products and formulations.
nResponsible for effective CP tests in support of new or revised product development.
nCommunicate effectively with R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, MKT, Sales, SCM and other departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth commercialization of new or revised products.
nDevelop and assess production technology: Scaling up product quality and productivity (Throughput) from laboratory scale to commercial scale. Develop technology on collaboration with R&D, Engineering and Production.
nCreate accurate production cost evaluations for new or revised products in cooperation with operations and other relevant teams.
nEnsure the timely creation and accuracy of product Bill of Materials, routings, flow charts and other supporting documentation for new and current products in compliance with ISO/SQF and other applicable management systems.

nProject, Process Development and Continuous Improvement:
n
nDevelop new processes when needed in cooperation with R&D, production and engineering teams, utilizing technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, people and existing processes.
nStandardize flow-chart: Establish flow-chart system and documents, flow-chart has to include production flow, machine/operational condition, material balance, quality standard, measurement method for quality, and action after finding abnormal quality.
nDevelop and maintain industry expertise in support of new and existing processes.
nOversee testing and analysis of replacement or alternate raw and packaging materials in support of cost down and stable supply initiatives.
nEnsure proper communication of process and product changes.
nMay travel to other facilities in support of product development, product transfer, process improvement and cost down projects.
nQuality and Consistency of Existing Products: 
n
nPromote cooperation with R&D and QA departments to establish product quality specifications, equipment and process specifications and testing requirements for process control for new and existing products.
nCommunicate sensory and technical directions to production to ensure consistency of product quality as necessary to establish regular ongoing quality performance on production lines.
nEnsure ongoing technical and quality related training of production employees.
nAssist with root cause analysis for non-conforming product as necessary. Make suggestions for corrective actions.  
nManage Project related Supporting Staff: 
n
nOversee the activities of personnel, ensuring departmental procedures, GMP's, quality and safety standards are met or exceeded.
nTrain and educate personnel in a manner that contributes to departmental, company and societal goals. 
nEvaluate employee skills and performance, making appropriate recommendations.
nPromote a positive, team-oriented environment.
nComply with all company policies and procedures.

nPosition Qualifications
n
n2 years of food manufacturing experience, preferably in value-added frozen foods
n2-4 years experience in project management
nBachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from a 4 year college or university in a relevant discipline; plus 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
nProcess design experience and processing equipment familiarity
nProduction test design, execution and analysis experience (SPC or similar preferred)
nAble and willing to travel for training, testing and meetings
nMust be willing to taste food products including food animal products.
nExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports and government regulations. 
nAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. 
nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from group managers, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.
nAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. 
nAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
nAbility to understand and work with equations relating to product costing.
nMust be experienced in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. 
nWorking knowledge of ERP systems and Product Development Software is preferred. 
nAbility to learn and use new systems.”
