R&D Engineer

Primary Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Designs and develops new products from concept creation to launch.

• Designs and conducts experiments to verify product performance.

ntttt

• Follows and participates actively in the phase gate system for new product development activities.

ntttt

• Provides assigned deliverables for the phase gate system.

ntttt

• Generates invention disclosures for new concept designs.

ntttt

• Provides technical support to Sales, Operations and Quality for product qualifications, process improvement programs, testing and training.

ntttt

• Utilizes polymer science and engineering principles to solve product challenges.

ntttt

• Designs new and/or modifies existing tests methods and ensures accuracy.

ntttt

• Develops accurate and complete specifications for new products.

ntttt

• Maintains accurate lab notebooks.

ntttt

• Ensures the timely completion of product design and development projects with priorities established and agreed upon with the R&D Manager.

• Ensures 5S in the R&D Lab.

nttt•    Position holder will have a high school diploma or equivalency.
nttt•    Ability to speak and comprehend the English language as determined through appropriate testing and/or the interview process.
nttt•    Able to read and comprehend and to legibly write the English language as determined through appropriate testing and/or the interview process.
nttt•    Mathematics and reasoning skills as determined through applicable aptitude and achievement tests.
nttt•    A position in areas, such as the maintenance department where specific skills such as electrical knowledge are required, will require documented evidence of competency in those skills.

ntttPOSITION REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

nttt•    Minimum Bachelor’s degree, a graduate degree is a plus.  
nttt•    Degree in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science/Engineering or Material Science with 1 – 5 years of industrial experience preferred
nttt•    Experience with polymers, polymer testing and processing equipment (compounding, extrusion, etc.) is a must.
