nJob Description: Quality Inspector

nSummary: The Production Technician and Quality Inspector is a hands-on position that will be responsible for the manufacture of cables, soldering of parts, assemble and testing of electronics assembly as defined by procedures, as well as being certified as an inspector of avionics equipment. This role requires you to be organized with exceptional attention to detail. You will collaborate with manufacturing engineers, the QA manager, and other key essential team members supporting manufacturing.n

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

nInspection Responsibilities 80%nn
- nt
- Perform inspection of cable assemblies, PCA, in-line inspection and final assembly inspection to internal and industry standards to determine conformity using microscope, multimeter, and hand inspection tools
- Initiate, document, and resolve any non-conforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures, assess compliance to company and industry standards
- Work with QA Manager to help identify product defects and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure that inspection equipment is valid and operates correctly
- Be able to guide and coach team members on quality practices

n Assembly responsibilities (20%) Work with supervisors, team leaders, material planners, and co-workers to ensure products are produced, tested, and shipped within established production schedules ensuring proper documentation and report are completednn

- Work with the Production Manager to achieve the requirements of the daily work schedule for the production area
- Ensures correct component identification is assembled as described on the bill of materials, drawings, and procedure manual
- Ensure that components and products are suitably protected while in storage and during operations
- Comply with company rules and HSE requirements
- Prepares and cleans the assembly area prior to a production setup
- Train and mentor new production team member
- Performs or delegates as needed general housekeeping duties
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines.

- Experience with the control of nonconforming hardware, failure/root cause analysis, and corrective & preventative processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a strong focus on Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF
- IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 Certified
- Diagnostics/repair skills including the use of multimeters and various electronic tools
- Working knowledge of electronic circuitry and the ability to read a schematic
- Familiarity with using hand tools and small power tools for electronics assembly.

- The work is in the assembly area with a moderate noise level.
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 75% of the shift time.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or stoop, crawl and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away, good visual acuity, either with the unaided eye or vision correction.
- Use fingers to grasp, move or assemble very small objects while making repairs.
- Hold the arm and hand in one position (or hold the hand steady while moving arm) while soldering and performing other repairs.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted in order to move and store monitors and other equipment.
- Abide by the Employee Handbook guidance and expectations.
- Perform work during Core Business Hours unless otherwise approved.
