FOOD MANUFACTURING PLANT IS SAN DIEGO NEEDS A NURSE RN FOR THERE PLANT. THIS IS DIRECT HIRE FULL TIME AND PAYS WELL UP TO $121,000 Plus 10% bonus. MUST BE BILINGUAL AND HAVE A BACHELORS IN SCIENCE IN NURSING AND HAVE TO BE AN RN. BILINGUAL IS A HARD REQUIREMENT AS WELL. SALARY RANGE IS 115-121,000 GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR A NURSE TO WORK IN A DIFFERENT TYPE OF ENVIROMENT.

nThe Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for providing medical aid to employees, conducts safety and health training, develops and implements health programs, participates in Worker's Compensation process and Transitional Duty Program. The Occupational Health Nurse is also responsible for complying with HIPAA, Company Policies and Procedures.

nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties, responsibilities and activities are listed in no particular order and may be changed or updated at any time with or without notice.)

n•    Independently assess and provide direct care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, for emergency and non-emergency incidents.
n•    Coordinate employee rehabilitation and return-to-work in collaboration with workers' compensation carrier, care provider, supervisors and Human Resources.
n•    Coordinate and monitor medical surveillance programs (e.g. hearing conservation, respiratory program, and blood borne pathogens) including tracking/analyzing results and referring employees to occupational health physicians as needed.
n•    Proactively engage with Department Leaders to assess work environment for potential health & safety issues.
n•    Coordinate and manage influenza, COVID or other vaccination offered by the company.  Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team: facilitate training and ongoing engagement activities.
n•    Develop and implement Health and Wellness initiatives in accordance with corporate and local objectives.
n•    Ensure personal and professional compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal regulations. (HIPAA, OSHA etc.)
n•    Participate in ergonomic assessments when needed.
n•    Provide health and safety trainings such as CPR.  
n•    Assist the EHS Department in root cause analysis of work-related injuries.
n•    Actively participate in and support programs such as PPE, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, etc.
n•    Schedule and administer annual audiograms for all employees in compliance with OSHA Guidelines.
n•    Perform training and orientation for areas and programs of responsibility.
n•    Perform all other duties as assigned.
n•    Disability and absence management, return to work evaluation.
n•    Work with the external healthcare providers, insurance carrier or third-party administrator, and corporate safety to reduce employee lost time and contain cost.
n•    Help coordinate transitional duty programs such as modified duty program.
n•    Subject to the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Ajinomoto Food’s HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures, assisting the Ajinomoto Food health plan with day-to-day activities involving protected health information, including but not limited to, assisting with employee claims, coordinating benefits, determining health claim status, determining eligibility for coverage, budgeting and renewal, billing and collection activities, obtaining assistance from third-parties for plan functions, and any other duties delegated by the HIPAA Privacy or Security Officer.

nQUALIFICATIONS
n
n•    Available to work flexible hours with twenty-four (24) hour responsibility to the site.
n•    Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
n•    Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of California
n•    Must be Bilingual English/Spanish
n•    Five + years registered nursing experience
n•    CPR certification
n•    Previous experience in Safety and Worker's compensation laws and regulations in the state of California
n•    Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of management.
n•    Strong communications skills, decision-making, problem-solving, independent nursing judgment, communication and a broad knowledge of general nursing.
n•    Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks.
n•    Strong computer skills
