“QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER POSITION OPENING IN COMMERCE CA WITH A LARGE FOOD MANUFACTURING PLANT. SALARY RANGE IS 115-125K. THIS ROLE HAS 5 DIRECT REPORTS, QA SUPERVISOR , QUALITY COORDINATOR AND 5 QUALITY TECHS. MUST HAVE FOOD MANUFACTURING EXPEREINCE AND A BACHELOR’S DEGREE.
nMUST BE SQF CERTIFIED OR AN SQF PRACTICIONER
nQA position, located in Commerce California you will maintain Company food safety and QA programs.
nReporting to the Director of Quality, you will:
n- Develop/maintain a capable QA/QC department.
n- Review and respond to quality concerns; and act as the final authority on food safety and food quality issues throughout the plant. Investigate QA complaints and implement corrective actions when necessary.
n- Perform necessary testing on incoming raw materials and finished goods and apply the Hold and Release policy as required.
n- Develop and implement food safety and QA programs as needed, including the training of employees on food safety and QA programs.
n- Maintain a culture of quality with all employees in the facility.
n- Work with the Sanitation Group to ensure food safety and quality.
n- Manage the Plant wide pest control program.
n- Audit and assist suppliers to resolve quality issues.
n- Lead/participate in company’s continuous improvement, safety and Visual Factory Management programs designed to evaluate and improve quality based on trends from customer complaints, internal deviations, and industry trends.
n- Provide technical supports on new product rollout, new process and equipment implementation.
n- Conduct monthly plant GMP/Food Safety and Quality System audits.
n- Interact with FDA Inspectors as required, ensures all products meet all applicable FDA regulations.
n- 5+ YEARS OF PROGRESSIVE EXPERIENCE IN FOOD MANUFACTURING QA WITH A MINIMUM 2 – 3 YEARS OF SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE IN A FOOD MANUFACTURING COMPANY.
n- PREVENTIVE CONTROLS QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL TRAINING
n- DEGREE PREFERRED IN A SCIENCE DISCIPLINE, BUT NOT REQUIRED.
n- WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF FOOD SAFETY AND QA PROGRAMS SUCH AS (HACCP, HARPC, GMP, SPC, PEST CONTROL, SANITATION, ETC.)
n- FAMILIAR WITH CURRENT FOOD REGULATIONS.
n- STRONG FOOD PLANT AUDIT EXPERIENCE
n- FAMILIAR WITH SQF, SILLIKER, AIB, NSF, AND OTHER AUDITS.
n- STRONG CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT EXPERIENCE.
n- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OFF-SHIFT AND WEEKEND HOURS AS WELL AS OCCASIONAL TRAVEL.
