BAKERY MANUFACTURING PLANT IN PORTLAND OR NEEDS A CORPORATE ENGINEERING MANAGER TO SIT AT THERE CORPORATE OFFICE. THIS ROLE IS HEAVY ON CAPEX PROJECTS, BUDGETS AND LEAN MANUFACTURING THIS PERSON REPORTS TO THE VP OF ENGINEERING.

nJob Description: Corporate Engineering Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

nn

    nt

  • Conduct Engineering department performance audits and identify opportunities for improvement
  • nt

  • Monitor and assist with the maintenance and improvement plans and strategies within the bakeries
  • nt

  • Develop and drive corrective action plans for bakery maintenance departments that are not meeting performance measures
  • nt

  • Provide direction and standardization to the Engineering departments
  • nt

  • Support the bakeries in identifying improvement opportunities, providing technical support and troubleshooting
  • nt

  • Research and present new equipment, programs, processes, equipment, etc. that will positively impact the bakeries
  • nt

  • Provide technical assistance and information as needed
  • nt

  • Self-starter who can work effectively with little supervision
  • nt

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently
  • nt

  • Demonstrate good leadership, decision-making, project execution and communication skills
  • nt

  • Utilize strong analytical skills to solve problems and make decisions based on limited precedents or guidelines
  • nt

  • Excellent conflict management skills and ability to partner with other organizations to be successful and resolve issues
  • nt

  • Previous experience managing in a union environment is desirable
  • nt

  • Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to work in a fast-paced work environment

  • Travel – frequent travel to other facilities

Job Requirements:

    nt

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical field, preferably with food manufacturing or consumer goods industry
  • nt

  • Competent in Microsoft Office and CAD software
  • nt

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a Maintenance department preferred
  • nt

  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred
  • nt

  • LME or equivalent electrical license preferred
  • nt

  • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering preferred
