FOOD MANUFACTURING PLANT  IN CITY OF INDUSTRY CA NEEDS A 2ND SHIFT QUALITY SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR ASAP. MUST COME OUT OF FOOD MANUFACTURING AND HAVE A BACHELORS DEGREE. SALARY RANGE IS 75-85K GREAT OPPORTUNITY WITH CAREER GROWTH.

n2nd shift. Start time is 12PM-1PM. Monday-Friday and some weekends (1-2 per month).

n•    3-5 years QA supervisory experience 
n•    Experience in food manufacturing
n•    Computer literacy is a must

nPOSITION DESCRIPTION
nJOB SUMMARY: Supervises the day-to-day activities of Quality Assurance Technicians to ensure QA
noperations and compliance with GSF, customer, and regulatory agency standards for food and packaging quality
nand safety. And enhance product development.
nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
n1. Quality Management – The position will constantly review and manage the quality performance of
nQuality Technicians. Review and enhance suppliers’ programs to ensure quality, food safety and
nconsistency for all products produced. May be asked to arrange and/or conduct facility audits, product
nmock recovery, administer non-conformance products, and participate in operations testing of new
nand/or modified products. Assist Product Development in specification development, enhancement and
nrevisions. Constantly fill in and perform all the responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager in the
nabsence of the incumbent. {65%}
n2. Technical Support – Provide technical support to Product Development and Operations in conducting
nprocess capabilities, Quality Assurance standards, quality procedures, food safety, and food security
nrequirements. Participate on cross-functional teams as Quality Assurance liaison. {25%}
n3. Quality Enhancements of Ingredients/Packaging – Support and provide needed assistance in the
nimplementation of comprehensive ingredients and packaging materials receiving, evaluation and
ntracking programs. {10%}
nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:
nEducation/Certification:
nBS Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or other technical disciplines. Additional
nManagement or Technical education preferred. Computer literacy a definite plus.
nExperience:
n5 – 8 years in Quality Assurance or related Technical discipline (in a Senior Technician or management
ncapacity) in the Food Industry. 3 – 5 years in QA and/or Manufacturing in a supervisory capacity preferred.
nTraining/Other:
nKnowledge of Sanitation GMP, HACCP, SSOP, SPC, and Food processing. Sanitarian Certification,
nKnowledge of ISO 9000, and Project Management preferred.
nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
nKnowledge:
n• Responsible for Quality management of Golden State Foods’ (City of Industry) programs in the Liquid
nProducts area.
n• Responsible for the successful execution of quality improvements on existing and new products in the
nfacility.
n• Monitor product and process quality through audits, HACCP, Analytical testing, Mock Recovery,
nproduct cuttings and other quality initiatives.

n• Provide needed technical support to Product Development, Operations and other functional groups in
nthe development of new ingredients, specifications enhancements, and quality and operations
nprocedures.
n• Manage the scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and discipline of a group of Quality
nTechnicians who are responsible for implementing quality initiatives.
n• Maintain a dedicated focus on International products quality.
n• Maintain adequate interactions with Suppliers and Customers to better respond to their needs.
n• Manages projects aimed at cost savings, quality enhancements, process improvements, and reduction of
nCustomer concerns.

n• Day-to-day interaction with QA Managers to discuss quality strategies for the facility. Also discuss
nproduct performance and direction for improvement on Quality Systems.
n• Provide QA Technicians with direction, training and support for implementation of various quality
ninitiatives in the facility.
n• Assist Product Development in their Product improvement and new product roll out initiatives.
n• Serve Operations Director, Managers, and Supervisors as technical resource in troubleshooting and
nresolving product quality and process-related issues.
n• Assist Compounders & Lead People in printing and adjusting batch card; assist in analytical test
ntraining of Compounders and other hourly employees, and helping them in other technical problems.
nPERFORMANCE CATEGORIES

n• Troubleshooting quality issues during production using customer concern information, product audit
ndata, operations input, and production data.
