Job Description: Industrial Maintenance Electrician 

Overall Responsibilities
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. The general purpose of the job is industrial equipment troubleshooting, repair, installation and maintenance. The maintenance electrician writes reports on work status regularly.

Duties and tasks
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and installs industrial equipment and controls in the facility making sure the equipment is in good working order and safe to operate. As needed, performs a variety of other tasks including mechanical repairs. Using catalogs and vendor 
contacts, researches and requisitions parts and supplies.

Other duties as assigned. 
Environment and Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the Industrial Maintenance Electrician is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and tools. Reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The maintenance electrician is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. 
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 Lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 Lbs.

Hazards/Safety
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician frequently works in a high noise level environment near high voltage and low voltage control panels and moving machinery. The Industrial Maintenance Electrician works indoors and outdoors and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or oily conditions, fumes or airborne 
particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

Interfaces/relationships
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician interfaces with mechanics, production operators, production foreman, engineers or other persons during equipment operation, preventive maintenance or repairs. 
Occasionally interfaces with vendors and service technicians of equipment manufacturers

Skill/Knowledge Requirements
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician is skilled in electrical troubleshooting, motor controls, automation control systems and is able to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings as well as understand procedures to accomplish their assigned task (such as engineer’s project, engineer’s notes, work orders from maintenance and production foreman). The person has good mechanical aptitude and ability to perform mechanical tasks and must be familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Technical competence, ability to read and understand detailed instructions, blueprints, flowcharts, schematics and engineering documents, and pass all technical and safety compliance training
• Understanding of control systems, circuits and motors
• Sharp troubleshooting skills and comfort working alone or as part of a team
• Ability to evaluate the scope of a job, determine needed parts/materials, and order through authorized vendors
• Expertise using hand tools, meters, gauges and other associated test and measurement equipment
• Experience operating under Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and other food safety/sanitary guidelines
• Basic math skills needed to do the job, the ability to differentiate colors, computer literacy, and understanding of the National Electric Code
• Reliable on-time behavior and flexibility to work at night as well as on weekends/holidays
• Good communication skills, energetic, respect for diversity, reliability, and a can-do/team-first attitude
Will be required to use 2-way radios, learn CMMS (Manager Plus work order system), attend/pass compliance and other training sessions to ensure correct maintenance documentation.

Must possess the tools of trade and a complete set of mechanic hand tools or minimum required by the company.
