FOOD MANUFACTURING PLANT IN OAKLAND MISSISSIPPI NEEDS A MAINTENANCE PLANNER/SCHEDULER ON 2ND SHIFT 2PM-11PM M-F. SALARY RANGE IS 70-80K NO HIGHER. MUST HAVE A STRONG CMMS BACKGROUND AND MP2 SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE.
Job Title: MAINTENANCE PLANNER/SCHEDULER
This position requires extensive, broad based maintenance knowledge and ability to execute a site wide schedule requirement which represents the consensus priority agreed to by the site production coordination function. Understanding of proper planning and scheduling procedures and material planning are necessary. Assist the plant in providing the necessary equipment and parts to increase plant productivity and assist maintenance in work preparations to improve work efficiencies and to reduce plant down time. Responsible for maintaining production equipment availability and performance at satisfactory levels through the planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting of repair activities. Assure resources are available and adequate to complete these tasks. Must be able to identify and prioritize multiple activities and projects and perform work with a constant awareness of continuous improvement. The Maintenance Scheduler will support all policies, goals and objectives of the maintenance department and Oakland facility, and will represent the corporation in knowledgeable and professional manners.
Receive approved work notifications and review the accuracy and completeness of the information and priority level
Convert the approved work notification to the Work Order (WO) process, assigning the WO a status and ensuring that the WO is entered work order system.
Plans maintenance activities based on WO received on a priority basis from the system.
Identifies each job step as well as the skills/trade for each job step, assigns the hours required to complete each job step by the identified resources, and the planning needs (materials, tools, people, inspections, equipment and procedures) for each job step as required by the WO.
Identifies any requirements that are outside of the existing stock items or resources. Communicating with the MRO buyer to identify a source of supply, cost and delivery date. Incorporate these extraordinary items into work plan and timelines.
Recognizes when there is a lack of qualified or sourced resources on-site to complete a planned job, and changes WO assignment to the respected contractor required.
Sources contractor options based upon the Approved Contractor list, solicits availability of resources and the cost of the planned work to be outsourced. Includes the contracting information in the work plan.
Recommends to the Maintenance superintendent and manager the requirements for contracting out to vendors, and works with the Maintenance superintendent to get approval for that work order assignment. Derives a Start Date from the Due Date and the planned hours for the WO.
Changes status of WO to “Open” status, ensuring that the WO is now on the correct backlog for completion. Builds Standard Job Plans for use on the same or similar equipment for the future implantation or modification.
Liaise with MRO buyer and parts clerk in order to optimize the spare parts inventory for all equipment.
Builds Standard Job Plans for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and inspection use.
Works with maintenance First Line Supervisors to setup and optimize Preventative/Predictive Maintenance Work Orders.
Participates in Maintenance Weekly Performance review meeting and Generates reports and populate DWOR daily/weekly/monthly basis
Educational background in a skilled trade including CMMS systems and data entry, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience.
Understanding of the Maintenance Process, including a demonstrated understanding of task management, timing and work requirements.
Must be knowledgeable in the interpretations of Organization policies and procedures including the application on the Collective Agreement. Must have strong organizational and computer skills (MS Office, word, excels, and MP2).
