nMUST HAVES:
nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics
n7+ years’ experience in a Tier 1 automotive supplier and/or injection molding environment

nJob Description: Materials Manager
n
nThe Materials Manager is responsible for managing inventory and purchasing procedures of materials and supplies according to business requirements.
n
nRESPONSIBILITIES:
n
nWork closely with production managers and other departments on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
nMaintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet production schedules and customer timelines
nMaintain and ensure accuracy of the perpetual inventory system
nEstablish procedures and supervise physical inventory
nSupport New Product Introduction programs
nDefine inventory entitlement models, inventory planning methods and drive the execution to achieve objective.
nEstablish and maintain metrics to measure supplier performance, quality, delivery and price
nRegularly review freight costs and carriers to determine lowest cost for shipment and receipt of goods
nLocate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
nPrepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
nParticipate in the development of specifications for equipment, product or substitute materials.
nAnalyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future materials availability
nResolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers
nControl department budgets
nReview, evaluate and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids
nReview purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
nPrepare reports regarding market conditions and materials/goods costs
nArrange for disposal of surplus materials
nDevelop and implement policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services
nEnsure and satisfy company goals and objectives, departmental compliance
nRepresent the department in internal/external audits
nManage and train staff to enhance their planning and negotiating skills with the objective of continuous improvement in product cost, quality and delivery, and in developing effective long term supplier relationships and capabilities
nConduct performance reviews and performance improvement discussions

nREQUIREMENTS:
n
nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics
n7+ years’ experience in a Tier 1 automotive supplier and/or injection molding environment
n5+ years’ experience in supervisory role
nFamiliar with supply chain and inventory management systems
nKnowledge of forecasting and budgeting
nAbility to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
nMust be a team player with excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
nProficient in Microsoft Outlook tools and ERP systems”
