Company has an immediate employment opportunity for a qualified
Project Engineer who will be responsible for engineering, design, and component
selection for in-house and field boiler and steam plant projects. This person shall
support the Sales, Service, and Shop departments in providing quality on-time
service to our customers.
This position is located in Fremont, CA.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for engineering and design of boiler systems including piping
systems, combustion controls, flame safeguard systems, and drum level
controls, FGR systems, flues and ducts, feedwater systems and SCR
systems with an emphasis on mobile and transportable applications.
• Design and engineering calculations for the selection of equipment to be
supplied as part of mechanical, electrical, and control systems,
procurement of material handling systems; and selection of equipment to
control noise, air and water pollution. Prepares P & I D diagrams, flow
sheets, and heat balances for power, heating and chemical recovery
systems. Prepares specifications for purchase or materials and equipment.
Evaluate bids and prepares requisitions for ordering of equipment and
materials.
• Design calculations for mass flow, thermodynamic, and heat transfer for all
types of fluids and gases in piping, duct systems and heat traps. Perform
boiler combustion and emission calculations.
• Meets with customer and/or engineers to determine scope of the work
(where required), reviews layouts, and design problems, schedules and
contract requirements.
• Reviews drawings and data submitted by customers, vendors, and in house
drafting department.
• Continually reviews designs in an effort to reduce cost and improve profit
(value engineering).
• Meets with field construction supervisors and field service personnel to
provide technical assistance and design backup.
• Prepares specifications and recommends purchase of engineered
components.
• Schedule and manage projects to ensure timely delivery of components,
installation, fabrication, and engineering designs.
General Knowledge & Skills
Requires a minimum of 5 years experience as a Field Engineer or Mechanical
Engineer. Experience should be at level that includes contact with customer and
sales representatives.

Preferred Requirements
B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering. Some post graduate
studies in job related field helpful. Working knowledge of thermodynamics, heat
transfer, chemistry, controls, metallurgy, and engineering materials is essential.
Engineering professional license is desirable
