Quality Control Associate – work in Quality Control department
$24/hr – $26/hr
Monday to Friday, Saturdays as needed, 8 am to 5 pm with 1 hour lunch.

Job Summary:   

This position is responsible for assisting with Document Control, Supplier document review, Approved Supplier Program, Specifications, Dietary supplement raw materials and finished product testing, and assisting with implementing the quality assurance and quality control program.   Collaborate with R&D, and assist with performing shelf-life studies. 

Responsibilities

  • Review raw material and packaging material documents
  • Review label claims against documents
  • Assist with certification submission (Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO Project, etc.)
  • Reviews QC Technician’s activities, including x-ray/metal detector checks, pre-op checks, daily GMP checks, production changeovers, and temperature checks.
  • Assist with allergen control sanitation verification program, and environmental monitoring program 
  • Ensures adherence and regulatory compliance with associated government agencies to include domestic compliance with 21 CFR Parts 100 to 169, including Part 111 referring to the cGMPs for Dietary supplements
  • Assist with customer document requests
  • Assist with monitoring adherence and compliance with Orthodox Union’s contract with the facility to remain kosher dairy. 
  • Assist with the SQF System Quality programs, create and update forms
  • Assist with Implementing the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program
  • Creates and plans testing procedures regarding raw materials and finished product analytical testing to meet label claims and other necessary customer requirements.
  • Develops raw material specification sheets
  • Keeps up to date with food recalls and legislation
  • Assist with generating finished product CoA’s

Quality Related Responsibilities

  • Ensures adherence and regulatory compliance with associated government agencies to include domestic compliance with 21 CFR Parts 100 to 169, including Part 111 referring to the cGMP's for Dietary supplements
  • Assists with raw material specifications and documentation project

Qualifications (minimum education requirements, training or experience)

  • BS degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related fields preferred
  • Minimum 2 year’s work experience in related fields required for a non-degreed applicant
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
