LEAD MAINTENANCE MECHANIC ON 3RD SHIFT IN TOLUCA ILLIONOIS. THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR it is a Lead role where they will be assigning work orders, training others, assisting the Supervisor and Manager with other duties as assigned. THIS ROLE PAYS 28-32HR DIRECT HIRE
Overview:
The Maintenance Team Leader will work with the Maintenance Supervisor to lead, plan/schedule, and perform repairs and preventive maintenance on facility/Building/Grounds and Production Equipment. This position will also support ongoing related projects and direct daily activities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily activities of the onsite Maintenance workforce on facility and equipment maintenance/repairs.
- Ensure employee accountability by reporting and assisting in incident investigations in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Develop, plan, and schedule preventative/predictive maintenance activities.
- Evaluate the skills and performance of employees, make appropriate recommendations for improvement to the maintenance manager, and assist in employee training.
- Track work orders and produce performance metrics through the CMMS program.
- Troubleshoot and develop solutions for all Facility/Equipment/Building and Production Machine issues.
- Develop, maintain and track adequate spare parts for critical production equipment.
- Through daily support, assist the MRO in maintaining an adequate maintenance inventory.
- Ensure TPM is implemented and maintained across any equipment as necessary.
- Develop and implement departmental improvement projects.
- Provide technical direction to department technicians and contractors.
- This position does require some off hour communication, along with weekend coverage to maintain the facility’s needs.
- Responsible for all aspects of facility and maintenance installations and repairs.
- May perform other duties as assigned and extend into other areas as needed.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.) and Good Sanitation Practices (G.S.P.) and other Food Safety guidelines.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure safe work practices within the department.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standards.
Qualifications:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
- Ability to work effectively in independent situations and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.
- Ability to read, interpret and perform from various documents, including method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, blueprints, printed shop schedules cards/boards, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, etc.
- Ability to properly identify components and gain extensive parts knowledge.
- Ability to identify and obtain appropriate parts for work station operation.
- General knowledge of machinery, specifically related to areas of responsibility.
- Control experience including 120v and 24vdc machine controls.
- Understanding of components, including starters, overloads, fuses, circuit breakers, and switches.
- Experience maintaining motors and pumps, including VFDs, and controls/protection.
- Ability to use test instruments, including a multi-meter, amp probe, and megometer.
- Test instruments, including a multi-meter, amp probe, oscilloscope, and analog signal meter.
- Facility systems air compressors, including types and operation.
- Steam system, including boilers, coils, condensate, return, and operation.
- Cooling water system, including operation and components.
- HVAC, including operation and components.
- Plumbing, including PVC, copper, black pipe, hoses, fittings, and valves.
- Carpentry, including framing, tile ceilings, sheetrock, and texture.
- Concrete, including preparation, mixing, and texture.
- Plumbing, including PVC, copper, black pipe, hoses, fittings, valves, and fixtures.
- Painting, including preparation, cleanup, mixing, brushes, and spray.
- Mechanical theory, including bearings, bushings, levers, pulleys, drives, transmissions, gear boxes, and clutches.
- Ability to weld, including mig, tig, arc, and acetylene.
- Ability to operate a lathe, mill, drill press, and grinder.
- Bending, bonding, cutting, and shaping of sheet metal and plastic
- Plumbing, including PVC, copper, black pipe, hoses, fittings, and valves
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED required. Some college coursework preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive mechanical and electrical experience required.
- Previous Refrigeration experience or equivalent education preferred.
- Flexibility to work overtime as required.
