Chief Engineer
Growing foundry near San Diego needs a Chief Engineer (could possibly also be known as a Manufacturing Engineer or Principal Engineer), who'll be responsible for overseeing all engineering activity,  You need to come in and be actively engaged in current work statements (history has been weak in taking a look at legacy work and how to make improvements to current tools – you need understanding of the tools and maybe come up with a new structure for the part – need someone who’s adept in the latest technology – understanding and designing tooling in coming up with the proper metal – there’s old school and new school knowledge – it's a little better if you’re familiar with software with a detailed understanding of design of tooling – systems that need to be put in place – dealing with gating and risers – they’re working on a lot of new products where they're relying on 3rd parties who’ll make a 2d drawing of the tool (ie – "this is the type of tool we need to manufacture for this part – this is the type of mold we’ll make…"), you need to be hands on and able to lead on the floor, work on process improvement, handle reduction in scrap, oversee new product introductions (NPI). There are 4 Engineers who'll report to you and we need an Engineer who MUST understand and be experienced in permanent mold and dry sand.

Might consider relocating the right candidate. 100k – 150k is the target salary range DOE, bonus will be based on company performance – estimated 10% – 15%. This is an immediate need. This is not a sit behind the desk position, we need a Change Agent, you'll be working with your team and production and working with different folks. Will be on the floor, this isn't a 8 am to 5 pm clock watcher job, need someone who's fine with getting their hands dirty, need to show people what needs to be done.
