Lead Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Champions a safety culture, ensures a safe work environment, and promotes safe behavior
• Monitors environment and becomes aware of conditions that may affect employee safety and security; takes corrective action
• Communicates to ensure employees learn and comply with specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies
• Prepares training plans and conducts or assigns safety, maintenance, machine operation and quality assurance training to new employees
• Prepares documentation and provides performance feedback to introductory employees
• Provides feedback to plant leaders concerning employee performance and behavior
• Ensures employees have required tools, supplies and area to exercise their duties
Production:
• Operates blow mold machines and other related equipment
• Analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules, and other data to drive production requirements
• Performs and/or assigns personnel to conduct audits, weights and quality checks
• Troubleshoots and resolves process problems and makes minor repairs to blow-mold and support equipment
• Prepares and documents daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies and others
Maintenance:
• Loads and unloads trucks and secures product in accordance with customer requirements; inspects incoming materials.
• Performs mold, neck tooling, pin and other equipment changes
• Installs, adjusts, and repairs blow mold machines, trimmers, palletizers and other related equipment
• Troubleshoots, locates root problems, and repairs blow mold, baggers and support equipment or PLC programming issues
Warehouse:
• Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.
• Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment
Quality:
• Develops and implements quality related training programs for all employees
• Applies statistical tools and techniques to monitor plant performance and finished goods
• Performs in-process inspections of manufactured product during molding, packaging, and loading
• Communicates quality issues and out of specifications conditions to plant leaders
• Completes laboratory testing and collects samples at established intervals
• Group Lead will have responsibility for two or more departments (i.e. Production, Warehouse, etc.). Lead will have responsibility for one mid-to-large department or a limited number of shift employees.
• Other duties and roles maybe assigned by plant management
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
1-3 years experience
High School diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
Manufacturing Experience
Associates degree or equivalent
