Summary 
The Electrical & Automation Technician will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining all electrical and automation components and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant. This position will fully support the maintenance technicians, train production personnel, develop SOP’s and KPI’s for operating and tracking machine performance. The E&A Technician will work with engineering to develop capital projects to further enhance our production goals and to provide a safe and clean working environment for our employees. 
 
Duties/Responsibilities 
Monitor and manage all low, medium, and high voltage distribution systems 
Ensure power quality meets factory demands 
Troubleshoot and repair all electrical and automation equipment 
Manage the instrument calibration program for quality and regulatory compliance 
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance routines  
Work alongside maintenance technicians as necessary and help develop their electrical troubleshooting skills 
Work within the OAG CMMS software program to track tasks, work hours, parts inventory, maintenance history and failure trends 
Use BDA tools to find failure causes and solutions 
Maintain electrical drawings, as-builts, operator and maintenance manuals 
Train machine operators to operate the equipment safely and efficiently 
Work with engineering and safety to develop and monitor an RMP 
Develop energy saving projects and/or cost saving ideas to promote further growth within the company 
Assist the Engineering Manager in creating the annual maintenance budget 
 
Requirements 
Five to seven years as a journeyman electrician 
Five years of experience in machine automation   
Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles 
Food manufacturing experience a plus 
In depth knowledge of HMI’s, PLC’s, and micro-processors 
Have the ability to read and understand ladder diagrams and ladder logic  
Working knowledge of regulatory standards (NEC, CalOSHA, NFPA, etc) 
Knowledge of OEE concept matrices 
Ability to work with little supervision on multiple projects 
Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
The ability to work in a team environment  
Must have at least an Associate’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline 
Pass a background check 
Provide proof of eligibility to legally work in the United States  
 
Equipment: 
Continuous exposure to heat, cold and ambient temperatures 
Frequent to continuous exposure to loud equipment   
Occasional to frequent exposure to moving forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyor belts, industrial bakery mixers
