Maintenance Techs – on AM shift (4 am – 4:30 pm with half an hour or an hour for lunch) need two, $31/hr is the starting rate as of now. If they have food industry experience she might consider a lighter guy with 2 years but otherwise they’d like more experience at 4 or more years. Will consider someone even if they don’t do well on the test but they have a good attitude and can elaborate well on their experience. They’re looking for previous high volume mfg experience such as food mfg or other consumable mfg experience, will ask a candidate “what do you do when a machine goes down, how long does it take to get it back up, what’s your urgency?” They want someone who works with speed and efficiency.

*Company has a pay for competency program. They do a 6 month review on skills that they expect the employee to have at those times and they increase employee pay if you pass the review. The skills you are tested on are posted from Day 1 so it’s not a surprise. If you pass the 6 month review it’s up to a $2.00/hr increase. About 95% of the techs have passed the review.

Here's a list of items that are discussed when interviewing a candidate. It’s not necessary that you be experienced in each of the areas but they'll ask you to rate yourself in the areas and deep dive into your answers to determine your experience level. Should be good with schematics and be able to demonstrate it during the interview. Candidates MUST be good at working with different voltages, MUST be able to describe how they’d use a multimeter which is essential for some of the jobs that are done there.
