PRODUCTION MANAGER – 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm to direct and coordinate safe activities of production department(s) which include extraction, drumming, bottling and packaging. This position will have limited office time, so it will require the individual to personally perform duties in production areas along with support from subordinate leads. The Production Manager will ensure quality product is being produced within a timely and cost effective manner while complying with all state and federal regulations for a food safe product.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
In collaboration with the Plant Manager plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Ensure the production process is completed in the most cost effective manner.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization and reports any issues/concerns through Maintenance work order.
Understand and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) daily.
Ensure that all SQF, Organic, Non-GMP procedures are followed (no cross contamination).
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and non-regulatory audits, such as FDA, SQF, USDA and customer initiated.
As needed sample product for quality. Evaluate staff performance. Responsible for ensuring staff are appropriately trained in their department.
Provide coaching and guidance to staff on an on-going basis and disciplinary action as needed.
Be an ongoing advocate for both Food & Employee safety. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages two to four subordinate leads who supervise a total of 20-30 production employees.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Five years experience and/or training in production and/or manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food/Beverage experience preferred.
Bi-lingual, English/Spanish a plus
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software including Word, Outlook and Excel.
Individual should have the ability to navigate the internet as needed.
