• Scope 3 emissions experience and a technical/engineering background is a plus.

Job Description:Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Specialist

Broad Function and Purpose of Position:
The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Specialist will be responsible for overseeing environmental, social, and corporate governance policies and procedures. The individual will directly oversee the environmental pillar of ESG within the guidelines set by regional and global sustainability and indirectly oversee the Social and Governance pillars through regional KPI management and general support. The individual will provide technical expertise on key issues related to CO2 reductions and carbon neutrality and supervise sustainability-related initiatives, taking into consideration best industry practices and standards. The individual will support implementation of the global sustainability strategy within North America, while further defining local strategies within each country, target market, and site.

We Need Your Skills : 
Specific Responsibilities:
• Adapt and implement the corporate sustainability strategy throughout North America.
• Oversee the Environmental pillar of ESG within Canada and the USA, targeting energy, waste, and water consumption within operations and sustainable solutions within the businesses.
• Ensure correct and timely reporting of sustainability KPIs, tracking and qualifying trends in efficiency.
• Oversee achievement of the CO2 emissions reductions (Scope 1-3) in North America and Region Americas.
• Ensure ESG implementation and compliance.
• Support departments already managing the Social and Governance pillars and oversee correct and timely reporting of associated KPIs.
• Uncover and implement opportunities for targeting energy, renewable electricity, waste, and water consumption within North American operations.
• Support local and regional Sustainability & ESG committees and roadmaps.
• Establish benchmarking, define guidelines, and collect best demonstrated practices on sustainability topics for regional roll out.
• Support the leadership in developing and implementing proper management system for improving the overall ESG performance of the company.

Qualifications/Experience/Education:
• Bachelor’s degree and above, with professional qualifications in sustainability, ESG, or related focus.
• Experience in energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction within operations is mandatory.
• Scope 3 emissions experience and a technical/engineering background is a plus.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred).
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Fluent/conversational French is a plus.
