Growing food/beverage company seeking a hands-on maintenance manager to lead the maintenance team in a growing production plant. Position is responsible for the planning, directing and coordinating the activities concerned with the design, construction, modification and maintenance of equipment and machinery throughout the plant, as well as the completion of projects by performing the following duties personally or through the team of maintenance technicians.
M-F 8AM-5PM with occasional weekend work as needed for special projects/emergencies
5 years’ experience in maintenance management/supervisor in a food manufacturing environment.
Experienced managing all facilities and utilities requirements for a food manufacturing plant.
Able to present and support effective training program and able to develop technical skills in department.
Must be able to manage department activities for planning, budgeting, business requirements, including vendors for supplies and services.
Have effective interpersonal and supervisory skills.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
Prior supervisor experience preferred. Required to lead a team of maintenance technicians and offer direction, coaching and counseling as necessary.
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Spanish is a plus.
Knowledge Word, Outlook, Excel and ability to acquire skills on local applications
Basic electromechanical understanding and have the ability to read drawings, cut, grind, layout, fit up, weld and install
Knowledge of PLC Programmable Logic Control troubleshooting and programming preferred
Set Establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, and oversees maintenance of plant buildings.
Maintains extraction, bottling, and cooling equipment; compressors, cooling towers, coolers, freezers, glycol system and A/C units, boilers, forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks, pasteurizer, air compressors, pouch machine, pallet rack system, and all building structures.
Maintains and repairs electrical and lighting system.
Designs and builds new equipment and electrical system.
Orders parts for equipment.
Responsible for maintenance reports.
Develop and direct procedures to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
Provides engineering expertise in the areas of tooling, specifications, equipment maintenance and purchased products.
Ensures current and accurate costing in conjunction with accounting/finance.
Controls expenditures within limitations of budget.
Recommend methods, materials, and layouts for improvements based on manufacturing needs and capabilities.
Directs maintenance and Janitorial services of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery.
Follow up on existing activities such as equipment quotes.
Resolve with appropriate operations management personnel and problem areas or requests needing specific immediate attention.
Keeps advised of state-of-the-art techniques and equipment to achieve cost-effective manufacturing and maintenance.
Prepare required documentation to meet cGMP requirements OSHA standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Repairs, replaces, troubleshoots calibrates and maintains production equipment e.g., conveyor bearings, belts and chains, motor/gearbox replacement, valve and pump maintenance
Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, belts, pump seals and wiring
Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed
Inspects and maintain boiler
Diagnose and repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electrical components
Wire high voltage motors and low voltage controls
Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
Operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems
Understand and ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed daily
Follow and enforces company safety policies and procedures
Ensure that all SQF, Organic and Non-GMO procedures are followed, no cross contamination
