Quality Associate – reports to Quality Manager

Overview
The Quality Associate is responsible for testing the quality of raw material and finished products to ensure Company quality standards are met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Control non-conforming product such as review disposition rejection notices, process scrap record and data.
  • Initiate and report internal/external corrective and preventive action per Quality Management System process.
  • Process shipping documents for domestic and international shipments using FedEx, UPS, and DHL shipment management systems
  • Contact customers about accepting order variations
  • Contact heat treat suppliers for order status and to request cert corrections
  • Create Certificates of Conformance
  • Maintain tool calibration program.
  • Perform internal procedure audits.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished products.
  • Compile test data and perform appropriate analyses.
  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures.
  • Maintain the Approved Supplier List.
  • Manage Customer returns and RMA log

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Trade Certifications Preferred

Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) capabilities.
  • Solid math and writing skills.
  • Ability to compile data and produce reports.
  • Ability to develop solid relationships, internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking; using logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment.

Experience

  • Experience working in a quality or similar capacity.  
  • Exposure to engineering systems.
  • Solid understanding of quality systems including inspection, auditing and MRB/corrective action.
  • Knowledge of various and relevant quality and technical standards.
  • Exposure to inspection methods and interpreting results.
  • Understanding of inspection tools including dimensional, NDT, camera.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience working with ERP/CRMs; Vantage preferred.
  • Industry experience preferred.
