Job Description

  • Supervise the area of responsibility maintain compliance with Government Regulations and Company Policies in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for permitting for maintenance activities. 
  • Lead maintenance housekeeping in all areas.
  • Direct and Coordinate Mechanics, Electricians and Fabricators and coordinate with the other personnel as needed to execute the daily and weekly plan.
  • Review daily work order records prior to transfer to the Planner and Storeroom to assure accuracy parts consumption and time estimates while also adding suggested improvements to the task list to aid in a future release of the job.
  • Monitors and supports maintenance and contractor safety.
  • Owns and Issues Weekly maintenance Schedule.
  • Executes activities associated with high priority work (P1 & P2).  
  • Completes daily maintenance log (updates completed, in process and planned maintenance work)
  • Reviews RC (Ready-To-Close) work orders each day (comments, closing codes, delays) and checks to insure MOC is/is not required.  Works with clerk to move work order to C (Completed) after MOC review is done. Writes requisitions for replacement in-kind materials or services for P1/P2. 
  • Supports the Maintenance Work Process program and reliability efforts.  Is the main Maintenance Work Process contact for maintenance on surface and is responsible for leading the process.
  • Participates in shift-change meetings.
  • Participates in daily scheduling and performance review meetings.  Is responsible for maintenance action items to correct behavior and take other short interval controls to make Maintenance Work Process more effective.
  • Participates in weekly schedule development process and provides input as to priority of work. 
  • Uses information on maintenance work delays to improve efficiency in maintenance.
  • Monitors labor efficiency and % resources scheduled in order to make recommendations for Maintenance Work Process improvement.  This also includes allocation of trades’ people each shift for break-ins.
  • Ensures schedule and the written break-in policy compliance.
  • Signs off on contractor time sheets as required.
  • Manages daily CMMS and work-order system.
  • Helps to manage and coordinate maintenance shutdowns
  • Prepares and reviews the unit-shutdown work lists for maintenance
  • Tracks maintenance delays in the overall asset utilization of key assets targeted in the program.
  • Reviews weekly-labor cost to ensure that contractor and trades time is being charged to proper work order.
  • Reviews shift log for maintenance issues
  • Oversees permits requirements for planned and unplanned maintenance work  to ensure compliance to the program
  • Coordinates MOC and EHS documentation for planned maintenance work
  • Maintains list of equipment tagged with caution tags for priority scheduling and execution of repairs
  • Reviews active work-order backlog for scheduling and recommends jobs for next week weeks.
  • Reaches consensus with General Foreman and planner for next weeks’ schedule.
  • Generates follow-up work orders for temporary repairs
  • Administers overtime policy and approves overtime according to policy.
  • Monitors completion of PM tasks and insures quality of PM work is to standard.
  • Evaluates contractor work performance.
  • Identifies Operations’ impacts on maintenance activities for minimization of repetitive work.
  • Identifies training needs for trades and recommends programs to enhance skills.
  • Insures work order planning is executed according to resources available and planning system developed.
  • Coordinates maintenance work with other effected stakeholders in relation to scheduling.
  • Audits work packages to insure they are complete.
  • Evaluates the overall maintenance schedule process for compliance with targeted performance for PM’s and labor scheduled identified in the various stages of implementation of the Maintenance Work Process program
