Experience (preferred or required):



  • Associates degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of strong manufacturing experience. 
  • Experience working in thermoforming plastics industry required- 5+ yrs preferred


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead all safety initiatives within the department and create proactive policies and procedures to prevent incidents
  • Support all safety initiatives and policies throughout the facility
  • Thoroughly investigate all safety incidents (first aid, near miss, recordable, lost time) and provide corrective action
  • Provide daily direction to production leads
  • Ensure quality checks are completed every 2hrs and drive necessary corrective actions
  • Build and enforce production procedures and troubleshooting guides
  • Work with materials manager to deliver material savings by driving improvements in recipes and part weights
  • Improve yield efficiency metrics within department by continually improving and establishing processes
  • Support all plant maintenance PM and TPM programs
  • Thoroughly investigate yield efficiency issues and provide improvement plans and corrective actions as necessary
  • Lead Continuous Improvement efforts within department by utilizing improvement tools such as SPC (statistical process control) and DOE (design of experiments)
  • Own weekly Continuous Improvement meeting.  Work with others as necessary to deliver presentation each week to show metrics trends, pareto of causes, and improvement plans to improve
  • Be willing and able to work afterhours, weekends, and holiday if necessary
  • Be able to fill in to any role within the department if necessary
  • Must be able to accurately complete all administrative paperwork.

  • Approve vacations for hourly employees and schedule backups for those on vacations
  • Ensure hourly labor employees time cards are correct each day
  • Supports all company policies and procedures including 5S and focused work teams.
  • Performs other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.

  • Must be driven by data and continuous improvement.
  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ability to grasp and understand the technical knowledge of all equipment.
  • Basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).  
  • Complex problem-solving skills: problem identification, information gathering, information organizing, idea generation, idea evaluation.
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and safety oriented.
  • Must be flexible in working hours including overtime, holidays, and different shifts as required.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to recognize mechanical and production challenges and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to work in a team oriented work environment.
  • Negative pre-employment drug screen and ability to pass criminal background check.
