What Will You Do?

CT approved (apprenticeship completed) Journeyperson
Fabricate dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, metal machine parts, die parts, roll form tools, punches, form tools, cams, and special tools.
Perform precision grinding, boring, or polishing of special tools and dies.
Assemble manufactured parts into working production machines.
Read and interpret engineering blueprints, specifications and verbal instructions.
Set up and operate machine tools and hand tools.
Diagnose and repair production equipment and tools.
Make own setups on CNC equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance.
Comply with all OSHA and company safety procedures.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using tools and measuring devices for lathe, grinding, blueprints, close tolerance, drilling, tapping, milling, fabricate, metal parts, finish parts, mill parts.
Excellent math, communication and problem solving skills.
Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
Current relevant licensing/certification.
An understanding of Mnaufacturing Engineering-Quality Engineering-Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and its components (i.e. Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5C, etc)
Familiar with principline of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly
experience with production standards, cost of quality and manufacturing methods
self start with strong work ethic/production oriented
