The Production Scheduler is primarily responsible for developing the production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. The individual is responsible for providing support to the Purchasing and Manufacturing departments through tracking and maintaining in-stock levels for designated raw materials and scheduling all work centers to maximize efficiencies, minimize changeovers, and maintain proper inventory turns. This is accomplished through cycle counting all raw materials, managing inventory within the ERP system, maintaining a production flow schedule based on desired in-stock levels. Incumbent will provide plant with a production schedule consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast which will require collaboration with the Production Team Leaders, Operations, Sales, and Purchasing to meet forecasted production and business goals. Sales forecast and interacting with the management team, customer service, and outside vendors.

  • Plans and establishes production schedules to meet customer demands. Develops production schedules in accordance with sales forecast, plant and employee capacity, and new business opportunities.
  • Works with sales and analyzes SAP current and past orders to determine future customer requirements and ensure all materials, labor are in-house to meet the upcoming manufacturing schedule
  • Works supply chain to ensure proper inventory of all production materials onsite when required. List of items to include but not limited to: ink, corrugated boxes, paper board, poly bags, cut rolls, print sleeves, glue, and tracking of tooling/dies and counter plates
  • Creates and publishes daily production schedules for multiple manufacturing cells ensuring all materials and tooling are available to execute production plans per the schedule
  • Works with customer service to ensure order fulfillment and tracks and trends customer shortages and adjust schedules to meet customer orders
  • Validates flash data with SAP daily ensuring schedule is being adhered to by production staff
  • Creates and analyzes reports as requested
  • Assists in monthly physical inventory counts
  • Identifies system and process problems related to scheduling and recommends corrective actions
  • Other duties as assigned by management team
  • Minimum of 3+ years production planning experience
  • Minimum of 2 years ERP software experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior knowledge of production scheduling /capacity scheduling in an automated manufacturing environment
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes
  • Forecasting, Reporting skills, Analyzing information, Dealing with complexity, Deadline-oriented, Strong organizational skills, Critical thinking, and Excellent communication skills
  • BA/BS degree (or equivalent work experience)


  • Experience with SAP a plus
