Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Reports To: Manager, Maintenance & Engineering
The Maintenance Supervisor role contributes to the success of the Production Facility by providing maintenance leadership for plant operations. This person will lead a team of mechanics to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective execution of daily maintenance activities. The person will also ensure the development of a high-performance maintenance team who is capable of maintaining and improving operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Supervise the Maintenance Technicians for all shift operations on the Sebastopol site.
•Ensure that the maintenance shop is used efficiently and in a manner that supports safe and productive activities
•Plans & prepares work orders (scope, tasks, resources, materials, tools) requests materials.
•Work with production, quality control and procurement to ensure weekly schedules are accomplished. Ensure that the labor required to meet the maintenance plan is available.
•Attend daily Gemba meetings.
•Align with management to ensure annual maintenance plans for the facility are developed, communicated and cascaded into articulate goals for the executive leadership team.
•Monitor cross-training programs and identify personnel and process improvements on an on-going basis.
•Provides employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues through problem-solving.
•Be an active member of the Safety Committee. Support the safety goals of the company through communication and ensuring adherence.
•Supervise service providers for major work
•Incorporates the continuous improvement process and root cause analysis methods toward improving asset reliability and sustaining a proactive maintenance environment.
•Ensure shift to shift maintenance issues/tasks/assignments are communicated
•Foster dynamic relationships with the maintenance team members and their counterparts in production.
•Ensures maintenance personnel adheres to established policies for inspection, maintenance and repair of machinery in addition to ensuring all company policies, procedures are followed.
•Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities listed above.
Supervisor Responsibilities: This role will supervise approximately 5-6 direct reports
•5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
•2+ years of supervisory experience
•Experienced in working in a Food/Beverage manufacturing facility.
•Very good technical machine knowledge
•Knowledgeable in process automation control.
•Experienced in working with low voltage control systems.
•Fluent in LOTO skills and activities.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Experience operating/managing CMMS
•Basic computer literacy with the knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
•Must be able to work any assigned shift and respond to equipment emergencies 24 hours a day, 5 days a week
•Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
•Ability to stand and/or walk for several hours a day
